Unit 10 B2b
Students these days often have a lot of worries Sometimes they haveproblems with their schoolwork, and sometimes with their friends. What can theydo about this? Same people believe the worst thing is to do nothing. LauraMills, a teenager from London, agrees. “Problems and worries are normal in life,” says Laura. “But I thinktalking to someone helps a lot. Unless we talk to someone, we'll certainly feelworse.”
Laura once lost her wallet, and worried for days. She was afraid totell her parents about it. She even walked three miles to school each daybecause she didn't have any money. She just kept thinking, “If I tell myparents, they’ll be angry?” In the end, she talked to her parents and they werereally understanding. Her dad said he sometimes made careless mistakes himself. They got her a new wallet and asked her to be mere careful. “I will alwaysremember to share my problems in the future!” Laura says.
Robert Hunt advises students about common problems. He feels thesame way as Laura. “It is best not to run away from our problems. We shouldalways try to salve them.” He thinks the first step is to find someone youtrust to talk to. This person doesn't need to be an expert like himself.Students often forget that their parents have more experience than them, andare always there to
help them. In English, wesay that sharing a problem is like cutting it in half. So you're halfway tosolving a problem just by talking to someone about it!

One morning it took me an hour to watch a small ant carry a huge feather (羽毛) across my back hall. Several times it met objects on its way and after a short time it would go around them. At one point the ant had to deal 1 a crack (裂缝 ) about 10mm wide. After a short time of thought, the ant put the feather over the crack, 2 it and picked it up on the other side, then continued on its way.
I was attracted by the cleverness of this ant, one of God's smallest creatures. It was an example of the wonder of creation. Here was an insect, tiny, yet given a brain (大脑) to think, discover and beat difficulties. But this ant, just like people, also shares human weaknesses(弱点.).
