旅游英语翻译误区三:翻译的随意性
很多人认为,旅游英语翻译,就是让对方理解所要介绍的对象,言无定法,只要能介绍明白,让对方理解,都是好的翻译。其实不然,英语翻译虽很有随意性,但仍是有章可循的,除一般遵循“功能对等”理论(尤金.奈达)外,规范化,通用化,简练,清晰的翻译才是最好的翻译。因此旅游英语的翻译是需要策略的。如纽马克( Peter Newmark) 把翻译文本分成三种类型: 即表述型( expressive) , 信息型( inform2ative) 和诱导型( vocative) , 认为不同的文本应该采用不同的翻译策略。因而不是随意而为。也有学者把翻译步骤大致分为剖析、表述和校核三个阶段。诸如此类,国内外有很多系统化论述或分类,这些都让旅游英语翻译在一定的规范内,可以更高效的达到原文对等,原意再现的效果。
因此,旅游英语不是随意而为,是需要训练和专业的。
