And they often go back home to celebrate the festival with their family.The first day of the new year is the time when people visit their friends adn wish each other good luck in the new year.

Today was very clear with no wind.
I practiced basktball in the morning.Then I went to the movies with Sandy.We saw White Nights.It was a very nice movie!I liked "Say you,say me"best of all the songs.I'm fond of seeing musicals.The dancing is very beautiful and the music is pretty.

Last night ,I dreamed I became a very beautiful brid.I dreamed that I was in a forest. In tht forest,there were a lot of animals.Then,an old bird told us,"we have a very beautiful forest,we should therefore protect it from pollution."All the animals agreed with him.
But the second day,people came into our forest.Many animals were caught.The people wanted to build house and parks in our forest.Many old trees were felled.And then suddenly,nothing was left standing.
I was so shocked and then I bursted out crying.I woke up at midnight.It was only a dream.

A book exhibition

Dropped in at National Library to see the National Book Exhibition which will close today.Suprised at the fact that so many kinds of books are published in our country.Thought the children's books with many pages of colorful illustrations were made very nicely.Bought a of the Chinese version of English and American Short Stories at a 20 per cent discount.Am going to read this through in this good season for reading.

After school is over, I return home. We usually have supper at seven o’clock.Then I begin to do my homework. I want to finish it before I go to bed.

How can a student love his country (be patriotic)? I find my answer very simple and clear. He must study hard and store up knowledge so as to serve his (the) country in the future. If every student can do according to what I said, the country will certainly be rich and powerful.
要使国家富强是每个公民的责任。为了达到此目的，必须爱国。我认为这是一条不易的定理。

There is no enumerating the evils of dishonesty here. In a word, a dishonest man will be looked down upon by others and (be) regarded as a public enemy.

Why are our bodies not strong? Because we do not pay attention to exercise. For this reason, we students must often take different kinds (sorts) of exercise in the gym.
Exercise helps us (to) strengthen our bodies and avoid disease. It also teaches us cooperation, for most exercise is played by team.
如果我们的身体不强壮，我们做事的精神一定会十分迟钝。而且同时，我们也缺少足够的精力来读书。疾病只为侵击体弱的人而不是强壮的人。

If everybody can do so, the country will be rich and strong (powerful).

it is the ty of every citizen to honor the national flag. Why? Because the national flag is the symbol of a (the) country. To respect it means to respect the country. In other words, if a man loves his country, he must love the national flag.
In school, the national flag is usually raised at a certain time every day. Then the principal, teachers, staff and students are to (must) stand before it and sing the national anthem. It is indeed extremely meaningful to attend such a ceremony.

Idleness is the opposite of instry. It is the source of all evil. An idle man only enjoys playing and making pleasures. That he is doomed to failure is of no doubt. We should not follow his example.

I have rested for 10 days. In these days, I felt very bored. I didn’t know to do what. Although I had a lot of things to do, I felt uncomfortable. I was ill because of the hot weather. I was tired, sleepy and had no strength. My parents are worried about my health. in fact, it didn’t matter. I was always in the room with air-conditioner and opened it in a low temperature. So when I went out, the high temperature disagreed to me.At last, I was ill.

小学教材较之初中教材，更加成熟，以口语训练为主，但课本所包含内容已涉及绝大部分初中内容。各个学校对教材的教法和教的深浅度不一。
从单词角度看，有的学让学生背蓝体字的单词和词组；而有的学校要求学生黑体和蓝体字的都背。这些单词中有不少在初中三年里还要再次学到，如help和help…with…在小学5A中就已经作为蓝体字出现。而到了初中，在7A教材中又再次作为生词出现。甚至有些单词在初中基本上没有出现，如5A Unit9 Shapes里的三角形triangle和长方形rectangle两个单词。因我市各区对小学英语教学的要求不同，各区小学学生对单词的掌握程度也不同。鼓楼区和玄武区的学生对小学课本里出现的单词基本上全都掌握，而我区小学毕业的学生多数只能掌握蓝体字的基本词汇。这在单词上就造成了学生在小学时英语学习的两极分化。
从语法的角度看，小学使各种语法时态就已经出现，如一般过去时在小学6A的教材中已经开始学习，而初中教材7B Unit4才开始学习。从各种句型结构看，小学就已经出现各个不同的句型结构，如why don’t you … would you like to do。初中再次学习就有点重复劳动。从音标教学看，小学三年级开始基本上每个单元都有音标学习，然而到了初中不少学生对音标很陌生。
综上所述，小学教材虽然已经比较成熟，但内容较深，词汇量太大，加之各区县学校的要求和教法的不统一，及各个学校的重视程度不同，学生在小学毕业时的英语基础也就不一样，学习兴趣也不高，对英语学习也没有正确的认识。学生在小学英语学习中的两极分化也很明显。
笔者认为小学教材应该简化，变得更加容易生动，以游戏和交际为主，减少生僻的英语单词，保留生活中的常用单词，使英语学习正真的生活化。而语法教学应尽量避免。对于音标教学应该加强，但老师在教授音标前应接受系统的培训，以免出现教学上的失误。同时一定要很好的研究小学教材和初中教材的衔接，避免不必要的重复劳动。小学已经强调学习过的部分，在初中应该弱化，而不是作为新的内容再学一遍。如果两者正真衔接的很好。《初中英语预备课程》一书就没有必要再学了。另外，小学和初中的教师应该就小学和初中教材接受系统的培训，要做到对小学和初中的教材全都了解掌握，这样才能紧扣学生实际教学。

很累啊，开心，起码证明自己还是个有用的人，前晚睡不着，昨天又要坐车了，天啊，去到会议室，只想睡觉，想不到还那么多人，很多外省的,有些还是在职的罗定老师也过来考。特别是英语的，本科也不少，但只招两个。算，当个经验吧，反正都不用复习的，面试和试教怕什么，大学时的英语口语考试也是瞎朦过去的，很多英语过了6级的同学考的口试成绩还没自己好呢，其实他们专业基础是好的。但老师们经常会拿口语来判断学英语的人的专业水平，因为写作是基础，口语是基础上的发展加应变能力，但对于我来说就特别了，基础对于我来说很容易犯错，就是说基础不扎实（即笔试）因为不喜欢背，最讨厌就是背了。

面试也考基础，但范围没那么大，多数是表达能力和应变能力，虽然一样是全英回答，怕什么，既然来到了，就来一个嘛，在会议室等待中聊天，喝了不少水。报名时是最后一天8月8号下午，所以英语我是最后一个考，一进考场，哇，我还第一次见那么多评委，有十几二十个吧，考时紧张，全英对话啊，没想到他会考论述问答题，问题都没看清楚就答了，反正也没看书，随机答吧。课都没说完，经常被她问的问题打断，答完后，在场的评委的表情和大学时口语老师是一样的，眼睛好象拼命的睁开一样。期间要回答黑板的语法题，天啊，我居然犯了个低级错误，写错了很简单的语法题，还好用之前面试兼职时的招牌笑容打了个完场。考完回到会议室，问了考英语的人都没犯那语法错误，怎么自己就那么粗心呢。心里真的没底啊，我虽然不是最好的，但也不想做最差的，不想考得太烂的，中午教育局请吃饭，想走了，因为多半考不上了，对手那么强，有些是外语系毕业的还是本科呢，但也看看成绩吧。

吃完就回会议室休息，和其他人聊天，有个是云城区在职老师来陪堂妹考，好漂亮啊，她不说还不知道她是个初中女孩的妈妈，教了15年了。外省的，难怪那么漂亮。和她们聊了一个下午，原来她是跟丈夫人事调动过来的，丈夫在市教育局，她问我为什么不学音乐，手指那么长，自身条件还不错。

当时想了一下，她说得也蛮对的，音乐这次还招3个那么多呢，令我想起高中时音乐老师说她不收我钱帮我辅导呢，但条件是我一定要考大学。但爸说音乐要花很多钱而且没实用，特别是上了大学之后，就这样就算了。其实是自己不够坚持信念，怕累。还和我说到，要挑男朋友的话就挑市级单位的，因为市区的单位比其它区的工资高很多，笑晕我,也太现实了吧。

她这样一说还让我想起去年暑假在英东体育馆和市政广场跳交谊舞时，他们问我是哪个单位的，是不是做老师的吗，原来都是这样，单位对单位，那里的确很繁华，像宫廷一样漂亮。

她好象还会看相似的,她说看我样子长得蛮有福气的,我真的要笑了,是不是因为我脸蛋大啊.

另外，英语日记中由于频繁出现I，因此，常常省略，如：In the evening went with Xiao Li to the cinema. Finishing exercises, went to play tennis. 但如果省去I，会造成语义不清时，则不可省去：

My sister is good at English, but I am just so-so.

实际上，省与不省I，只是作者的一种习惯，为了记日记的方便。

最后需要一提的是，英语日记习惯一年一本，因此日期不必写年份，而只是在每年一本的日记本封面上或者在日记的第一页和最后一页加以注明即可。

The night before the examination

The clock struck eleven at night. The whole house was quiet. Everyone was in bed except me. Under the strong light, I looked gloomily before me at a huge pile of that disgusting stuff they call“books”.

I was going to have my examination the next day. “Whencan I go to bed?” I asked myself. I did not answer. In fact I dared not.

The clock struck 12.“Oh, dear!”I cried. “Ten more books to read before I can go to bed!”We students are the most wretched creatures in the world.

A watermelon

Got a present of a watermelon cooled down in the well(在井里冷却过的)from my next-door neighbour. As I was very thirsty, enjoyed it very much. They say the watermelons have turned out very well this summer e to the dry weather.

“邻居送西瓜”这样一件小事，充满生活乐趣。当然可以作为日记的材料。文中有省略I的地方。

Very fine

A sunny day

I got up early today to watch the sunrise. While I waited for the sun to rise, I sat beside my window and thought of my future. Soon I will be a grown man and I won't be a baby anymore. Maybe I'll be going to college if I pass the college entrance examination. I didn't want to think of not passing this important examination, for my parents are counting on me to do so.

Anyway, if I don't pass this one I should try again next year. I thought about my parents too. They have worked so hard to give us children a good life. Now, they are getting older little by little. There are more grey hairs now in Mother's hair. As for my father, he's beginning to have a hard time reading the newspaper. He uses a pair of glasses now. All these thoughts touch me and tell me that time is indeed swiftly passing.

The sun was coming out of the horizon. First it was just a ray of light. But little by little the whole circle started coming into view. The sky was a bright orange with a blue haze surrounding the emptiness. Soon I could feel the warmth of the sun as its rays passed through my window pane. The view was really beautiful, more beautiful than any picture I had ever seen. In a few minutes everyone was awake and everyone went on their own way with their lives. Another day started and it was another beginning for all of us.
