Three Good Friends
One day, a monkey rides his bike near the river. This time he sees a lion under a tree. The lion runs at him. He is afraid and falls into the river. He can’t swim. He shouts. The rabbit hears him. He jumps into the river. The rabbit swims to the monkey, but he can’t help him. Luckily, an elephant comes along. He is very strong. He helps the rabbit and monkey. Three friends are very happy. They go to the elephant’s home. Then, three of them become good friends.

风和太阳(The Wind And The Sun)
One day the wind said to the sun, “Look at that man walking along the road. I can get his cloak off more quickly than you can.”
“We will see about that,” said the sun. “I will let you try first.”
So the wind tried to make the man take off his cloak. He blew and blew, but the man only pulled his cloak more closely around himself.
“I give up,” said the wind at last. “I cannot get his cloak off.” Then the sun tried. He shone as hard as he could. The man soon became hot and took off his cloak.

A DOG, crossing a bridge over a stream with a piece of flesh in his mouth, saw his own shadow in the water, and took it for that of another Dog, with a piece of meat double his own in size. He therefore let go his own, and fiercely attacked the other Dog, to get his larger piece from him. He thus lost both: that which he grasped at in the water, because it was a shadow; and his own, because the stream swept it away.

The Old Cat
An old woman had a cat. The cat was very old; she could not run quickly, and she could not bite, because she was so old. One day the old cat saw a mouse; she jumped and caught the mouse. But she could not bite it; so the mouse got out of her mouth and ran away, because the cat could not bite it.
Then the old woman became very angry because the cat had not killed the mouse. She began to hit the cat. The cat said, "Do not hit your old servant. I have worked for you for many years, and I would work for you still, but I am too old. Do not be unkind to the old, but remember what good work the old did when they were young."
老猫
一位老妇有只猫,这只猫很老,它跑不快了,也咬不了东西,因为它年纪太大了。一天,老猫发现一只老鼠,它跳过去抓这只老鼠,然而,它咬不住这只老鼠。因此,老鼠从它的嘴边溜掉了,因为老猫咬不了它。

A man was going to the house of some rich person. As he went along the road, he saw a box of good apples at the side of the road. He said, "I do not want to eat those apples; for the rich man will give me much food; he will give me very nice food to eat." Then he took the apples and threw them away into the st.
He went on and came to a river. The river had become very big; so he could not go over it. He waited for some time; then he said, "I cannot go to the rich man's house today, for I cannot get over the river."
He began to go home. He had eaten no food that day. He began to want food. He came to the apples, and he was glad to take them out of the st and eat them.
Do not throw good things away; you may be glad to have them at some other time.

The City Mouse and the Country Mouse
Once there were two mice. They were friends. One mouse lived in the country; the other mouse lived in the city. After many years the Country mouse saw the City mouse; he said, "Do come and see me at my house in the country." So the City mouse went. The City mouse said, "This food is not good, and your house is not good. Why do you live in a hole in the field? You should come and live in the city. You would live in a nice house made of stone. You would have nice food to eat. You must come and see me at my house in the city."
The Country mouse went to the house of the City mouse. It was a very good house. Nice food was set ready for them to eat. But just as they began to eat they heard a great noise. The City mouse cried, " Run! Run! The cat is coming!" They ran away quickly and hid.
After some time they came out. When they came out, the Country mouse said, "I do not like living in the city. I like living in my hole in the field. For it is nicer to be poor and happy, than to be rich and afraid."
城里老鼠和乡下老鼠
从前,有两只老鼠,它们是好朋友。一只老鼠居住在乡村,另一只住在城里。很多年以后,乡下老鼠碰到城里老鼠,它说:“你一定要来我乡下的家看看。”于是,城里老鼠就去了。乡下老鼠领着它到了一块田地上它自己的家里。它把所有最精美食物都找出来给城里老鼠。城里老鼠说:“这东西不好吃,你的家也不好,你为什么住在田野的地洞里呢?你应该搬到城里去住,你能住上用石头造的漂亮房子,还会吃上美味佳肴,你应该到我城里的家看看。”
乡下老鼠就到城里老鼠的家去。房子十分漂亮,好吃的东西也为他们摆好了。可是正当他们要开始吃的时候,听见很大的一阵响声,城里的老鼠叫喊起来:“快跑!快跑!猫来了!”他们飞快地跑开躲藏起来。
过了一会儿,他们出来了。当他们出来时,乡下老鼠说:“我不喜欢住在城里,我喜欢住在田野我的洞里。因为这样虽然贫穷但是快乐自在,比起虽然富有却要过着提心吊胆的生活来说,要好些。”

多一点宽容与尊重 多一分进步

在多年的教学工作中,我遇到过很多犯错的学生,在教育学生中,我采用过很多教育方法,我觉得最有效的是无声教育。相传古代有位老禅师,一日晚在禅院里散步,看见院墙边有一张椅子,他立即明白了有位出家人违反寺规翻墙出去了。老禅师也不声张,静静地走到墙边,移开椅子,就地蹲下。不到半个时辰,果真听到墙外一阵响动。少顷,一位小和尚翻墙而入,黑暗中踩着老禅师的背脊跳进了院子。当他双脚着地时,才发觉刚才自己踏上的不是椅子,而是自己的师傅。小和尚顿时惊慌失措,张口结舌,只得站在原地,等待师傅的责备和处罚。出乎小和尚意料的是,师傅并没有厉声责备他,只是以很平静的语调说:“夜深天凉,快去多穿一件衣服”。全寺大众,没有人知道这一件事,仙崖禅师从来也没有提起,但自此以后,全寺一百多个学僧,再也没有人出去夜游了。
其实以宽容的态度来对待犯错的学生,悄悄的给学生一个改过的机会,比以严厉的批评教育更有效。有一年,我担任三年级的班主任,班上有一个女同学小雨,她和我是邻居,她还没有读书时,就我就很熟悉她,她头脑机灵,思维敏捷。是个聪明的女孩子,可性格倔强,争强好胜。她的爸爸在她读一年级的时候就去世了,她妈妈忙于工作对她也就疏于教育,学习态度很差,作业马虎,有时还不完成作业。因此虽有聪明的头脑,学习成绩却一般。她读三年级我是教她语文,在开学的第三天,就没有完成作业,我为了让她在新的学年里有个好的开始,就找她进行了长谈,给她讲了很多道理。谁知过了一段时间,她又“旧病复发”一天早上,同学们都把已经做好的作业交到组长的桌子上,小雨没有完成作业。她当然没有作业交,就趁组长离开座位,悄悄的拿了小梅的作业本,把名字用透明胶粘掉,写上自己的名字。然后又交到组长那里。组长在把作业本拿到办公室交给我的时候,告诉我小梅没有交作业,我想小梅是个非常认真学习的学生,从来没有不交作业的。我把组长交来的作业本逐一检查一下,看见写着小雨的名字的本子。写名字的位置是被透明胶粘得薄薄的,我马上明白了,是小雨把小梅的名字用透明胶粘掉,再写自己的名字。因为小雨已经读三年级,是不会写错自己的名字,再看看作业本里的字,端端正正,这分明是小梅的字,不是小雨的字。当时我很生气,没有完成作业已经不对了,还这么狡猾,小小年纪就学会偷梁换柱,我马上去课室找小雨来教训一顿,可是当我还没有走到课室时,我突然间想起仙崖禅师的故事,心想她这样做无非是不想挨批评,说明她的自尊心很强,这使我认识到,用简单的批评方式,找家长是没有什么收效的,关键是要让自己的话语感动她,使她佩服自己,听自己的话。于是我就尝试老禅师的做法,以鼓励代替责备,以关怀代替处罚的教育方法。决定在发作业本的时候表扬她,让她感受被老师赏识的快乐。我对她说:“小雨你这次作业的字写得非常端正,是你写的吗?”她红着脸低下头小声地回答“是。”我接着对她说,小雨你是个聪明的孩子,你看,只要你认真,就能把作业写得那么好,你那么聪明,只要你再加把劲那你的成绩一定比小梅的还好,相信你是不会令老师失望的。她看见老师没有责备她,反而表扬她,相信她,就大声地说,“我不会令老师失望的。”从她的话语中,我知道她这时很开心的,真的完成每一次作业,可能是恐怕做得不好,会被老师揭穿她的秘密。也可能真的下了决心,一定要信守诺言,不令老师失望。因此她发奋的学习,学习成绩也进步神速。经过努力,她的成绩在班上名列前茅。经常受到表扬,同学对她也刮目相看。从此她跟我成了好朋友好。
俗话说:“学坏容易学好难。”教育的事不是一蹴而就的,小雨在学习上克服了不完成作业的坏习惯。可她还有一个坏习惯就是随便拿别人的东西,一个星期天的早晨,我在洗衣服的时候忘记把口袋里的钱包拿出来,就把衣服放在水里。结果钱包里的钱全湿了,我就把湿透的钱一张一张地展开放在桌子上,这时只有小雨在我家门口玩,我洗完衣服就上楼凉衣服,当我再下楼的时候,小雨走了,我桌子上的钱也不见了,我知道那一定是小雨所为,可我知道。如果直接问她有没有拿了我的钱,以她的性格,她一定不会承认。我想,这一次,还是要给她一个台阶下,以免挫伤她的自尊。我就走到她家门口,对她说;小雨,我放在桌子上的钱被风吹走了,你刚刚在我家门口玩看见我的钱吹那里?帮我找找吧,她是个聪明的孩子,一听我这样说,就马上答应帮我找。一会就说钱找到,一分不少的交给我,我对她说;你真是个聪明的好的孩子,这么快就帮我找回钱了。第二天回到学校,我在班上告诉同学们,小雨不但学习成绩进步了,还乐意做好事,昨天捡到我的钱能交还给我,这时同学都向她投向赞许的目光。她开心的笑了。从此,再也没有听说她拿别人的东西了。后来还以优秀的成绩考上重点中学。
这两件事使我觉得对待犯错应该以宽容的态度来对待,尤其是女同学。当然,宽容是有尺度,不是姑息从容。在教育犯错的学生时,既要以宽容的态度来对待,在尊重学生自尊的前提下以适当的方式教育犯错的学生,像那位禅师那样以宽容的态度对待犯错人,以关爱代责备,给学生一个下台阶的机会。令他能感动,意识到自己的错误,并真心改正错误。我相信老师这样教育学生,学生不但会自己改正错误,而且还会感谢老师的。
