The whole village（主句主语） soon learnt（谓语） that （引导宾语从句）a large sum of money（从句主语） had been lost（被专动语态属）.

all放在这两个不同的位置中，它的词性是不一样的，放在前面的时候它是个形容词（所有回的），而放答在后面的时候，它则是个副词（完全地）。
至于句意的话，非要作出区别的话大概是着重点不同吧。上面一句话翻译成这“最终，山姆所有的钱都以这种方式还了回来。”（强调钱的数额）下面这句则翻译成，“最终，山姆的钱全部都以这种方式还了回来。”（强调还钱的方式）
囧，其实我觉得这个问题没什么纠结的必要~~

Lesson45 A clear conscience
The whole village soon learnt that a large sum of money had been lost. Sam Benton, the local butcher, had lost his wallet while taking his savings to the post-office. Sam was sure that the wallet must have been found by one of the villagers, but it was not returned to him. Three months passed, and then one morning, Sam found his wallet outside his front door. It had been wrapped up in newspaper and it contained half the money he had lost, together with a note which said: 'A thief, yes, 'but only 5o per cent a thief!' Two months later, some more money was sent to Sam with another note:' Only 25 per cent a thief now!' In time, all Sam's money was paid back in this way. The last note said:' I am 100 per cent honest now!'
