寫作文必須有一定的詞彙做基礎。在此基礎上，寫作的時候首先注意審題，偏離了寫作要求的話，寫多少內容都是白搭。其次，如果給了中文意思就逐句翻譯,給了中文或英文關鍵詞就自己編,有給表格或信息的就按這些寫。題目中給出的一切信息都要在你的作文中表現出來。
最後，一定要有開頭和結尾。這個自己可以多看一些英語作文範例,就會寫開頭結尾了。特別是結尾一定要有總結句.比如寫自己理想職業的作文,開頭可以寫"Everyone has a dream.Do you want to know my dream?",結尾可以寫"So I have to study hard in order to be a engineer in the future.What's your dream?".
關於作文字數的問題,如果單是寫了題目中給的信息一般字數肯定不夠,這就得要你自己加東西.可以加從句，感嘆句之類的。形容詞也可以多用.大概加一兩個從句就行了.
最好在文章里用上一些自己知道的比較難的片語和句型。因為有的老師扣分嚴格,即使滿篇沒有語法錯誤也會因為語言太過平淡而不給你滿分.
最後一定要檢查語法有沒有問題.一般的老師都會在語法錯誤上扣分.還有最好用一些不同的連詞把全文貫穿起來.連詞用得不合適或是缺少連詞也都會扣分.

書寫格式
基本要求
英文書寫應符合書寫規范，英文字母要寫清楚、寫整齊、寫美觀，字母的大小和字母之間的距離要勻稱。書寫應做到字形秀麗漂亮，通篇勻稱和諧。
寫英文字母要掌握正確筆順。如小寫字母i ，應該先寫下面的部分，然後再打點。有的學生卻按寫漢字的習慣從上到下寫，寫快了，就會把點和下面的豎筆連在一起，顯得十分別扭。字形t應為兩筆。不少人卻將兩筆合成一筆，看上去不像t，倒像l或是e，難以辨認。另外，把r寫成v，把q寫成把g，把k寫成h等等，都是中學生書寫中常見的毛病。
不少人在四線三格的練習紙上書寫尚有規矩，能按字母的占格、高低和大小要求書寫，但在白紙或橫線紙上書寫，卻顯得十分幼稚拙劣。字母或跳上跳下，或一律寫成同一高度，占上中兩格的字母與佔中下兩格的字母完全沒有高低之別。這些現象都要防止。
另外，書寫時還要注意詞與詞之間要保持一定的距離，不能緊靠在一起。字母之間的連寫也應該按照習慣，不能隨意亂來。
在一篇字數有限的作文里，我們還要注意盡量不把一個單詞拆開移行。萬一要移行，則必須以音節為單位進行，如revolution這個詞，依照音節移行的原則可以按re-，revo-, revolu-這幾種方法移行。在移行時，我們還應特別注意以下幾點:
1. 單音節詞不能移行，即使是字母較多的單音節詞，如through等也不能例外。
2．縮略詞如Mr.、Dr.等不能和後面的名字拆開移行。 縮略的專用名詞如U.K.(the UnitedKingdom)、U.S.A(United States of America)等也不能拆開移行。
3．時間、量度及貨幣單位應視為一個整體；不能分開移行。
