這天中午，爸爸和媽媽匆匆扒了幾口飯，又要到稻田裡去了，臨走的時候還再三叮囑我，要好好看書，並限我在天黑之前交一篇作文。看書看書，一天到晚就知道叫我看書！我心裡很不快括，只得抽出一本作文選，捧在手上看起來。看了一會兒，卻不知看了些什麼，整個人稀里糊塗的。我鋪開作文本，想努力寫完作文，可是，腦子里一片空白，有什麼可寫的呢?與其被扣在家裡受罪，不如到田裡去割稻子。爸爸媽媽不讓我去，我就悄悄地到另一塊地里去割。我打定主意，覺得渾身有一股使不完的勁兒。於是，我忙找了一把舊鐮刀，就像偵察兵深入敵占區似的，到了我家的稻田裡，趕忙割起來。開始割的時候，我渾身是勁兒，割得特別快。可沒割多長時間，我就覺得腰酸背痛，手腳發硬，不那麼靈活了，鐮刀也好像變得特別鈍。我真想回家，但又想：爸爸和媽媽從早到晚忙碌不停，卻從不說一聲苦、喊一聲累，我才割了一小塊地就想打退堂鼓，多不好意思。想到這兒，我就坐在田埂上歇一會兒再起來割，一直割到天黑。這時，我的衣服被汗水濕透了，而且腿似乎都站不穩了，腰也挺不直了。看到割的地方還不算太小，我興奮得忘記了疲勞。
