一、聽力關

高一同學來自不同的初中，由於各方面的條件限制，很多同學語音、語調很差，音標也不過關。鑒於這種情況，高一學生剛開學必須先正音。正音的最好辦法就是堅持聽錄音，過好聽力關，每天早晨的朗讀時間有目的地定時定量聽，下午活動時間學生自戴耳機隨意聽，這樣日復一日，學生的語音、語調慢慢地就會有所改善，同時也訓練了聽力，增強了語感，對於其他方面的學習也有百利而無一害。

二、單詞關

高中英語的詞彙量與初中英語的詞彙量相比增加了許多，所學的單詞也幾乎全部都是極為常見和常用的單詞，對於它們就是要做到一個「背」字，要背得滾瓜爛熟，不僅要見英語知漢語，還要見漢語說英語，也就是過好單詞關。如何過好這一關呢？在每一學期開始，花上一周左右的時間，以半學期的單詞量為單位學單詞，每天記一單元，一周後進行專門的單詞測試，這樣就給同學們預習課文掃清了單詞障礙。在接下來上課文的過程中，重點就放在了詞的理解和應用上了，同時也起到了對單詞的復習作用。為了確保單詞記得牢，每次月考、期中、期末考試前，要把所學的單詞再抽出來進行復習測試，這樣就確保過好了單詞關。只要記住了單詞，無疑對學生的課文理解、閱讀、寫作都有了極大的促進作用，也能起到事半功倍的效果。所以過好單詞關是必要的。

三、背誦

關許多同學對「勤朗讀多背誦」不以為然，只是翻翻課文、動手寫寫、眼睛看看，嘴巴根本不用，更不用說是「背誦」。這是一種十分錯誤的做法，從學生到我自己的親身體會，勤朗讀尤其是背誦是使我們受益的一大法寶，所以高一學生必須過好「背誦」關。首先，對於教科書的每一篇文章都要求背誦，俗話說「書讀百遍，其義自見」，更不用說是背誦了。但這種背誦並不僅僅以背誦為目的，而是要通過背誦熟悉單詞及其用法，體會英語的語氣、語境，增強語感，同時在這個自己所營造的小小的「英語天地」里鍛煉著聽力、練習著口語，每天所需的時間並不是很多，半個小時左右足夠了，只要天天堅持，把零星的時間充分利用在英語的朗讀背誦上，效果就會明顯地體現出來，也只有這樣，才有可能做到出口成章，給寫作積累下更多的素材。

由此可以看出，要學好高一英語，進而給整個高中英語打下堅實的基礎，過好「三關」極為重要。只要把過「三關」當作日常性的工作來做，充分利用自己的零星時間，其效果要遠好於臨時「抱佛腳」。
