我故鄉的門口種了幾棵頗為茂盛的樹，它們的種類是鐵樹，是一種雖然很常見但是卻非常難開花的植物。鐵樹，在每家一戶的大院前門都會種上幾棵。
春天到了，鐵樹枝上的尖葉綠油油的，彷彿像被人塗上了綠色的油漆似的，葉尖上刺的周圍，帶有一丁點秋天的幻彩：黃色。外婆那兒，有很多花花草草，人們只要從那裡路過，都會稱贊那些花草，唯獨鐵樹，一種普通得不能在普通的植物，沒人稱贊，也沒人觀望。它卻在那裡完好的佇立著。有時候幾天或者幾個月不下雨，一些植物就乾旱死了，又或者，下幾天大雨，有一些植物又被淋死了，只有鐵樹在那裡堅強地挺立著，風吹雨打，它都屹立不倒，米黃色的果子，向外延伸著枝葉，還有那綠似碧玉的尖葉，看上去就像一個忠誠的衛兵，它已經生長很久了。
夏天到了，鐵樹身上的尖葉變得更綠了，枝幹也已經很寬很大了，它的枝幹已經伸到了去伐木區的路上。外婆用比較硬的將它向外延伸的枝葉圍了起來，看起來像一個正在鍛煉的運動員一樣。
秋天到了，石桌邊的梧桐樹葉已經掉落了。只有鐵樹，枝葉完全沒有掉落，就算掉，也是被一些小朋友折下來的，根本不會自然掉落。
多天到了，所有的樹都沉睡了，只有鐵樹被雪調成一身雪白的「服裝」，獨自挺立在大院前門……
這就是我故鄉的鐵樹，它的品格如其名，一年四季都在堅強地生活著，它的品格值得我學習。
