You become a tiny bit vain.By this I don』t mean you turn into this monster who believes you are the best thing since sliced bread,but you do care infinitely more about your appearance,and can』t resist glancing at yourself when you walk past shop windows.You look at yourself in the mirror more (although in my case it is mostly still to convince myself that this is me and yes,I do really look like this)
You become slightly obsessed with being healthy and eating healthy.This is great,but can also turn you into a bit of a bore,especially if you become an evangelist constantly harping on at people to change their ways.Although I have been very open about my desire to help other people lose weight,I also believe people need to make their own decisions about making lifestyle changes.My approach has been to talk about my experience,openly communicate that I am happy to share my knowledge,and then move on to other topics of discussion.I think it』s a bit like being a drug addict or smoker - everyone tells you it』s bad and you should stop,but until you make that decision for yourself nothing will change
Cost!When you have to replace your entire wardrobe,from underwear to outerwear,the cost certainly adds up.I guess you could see this in 2 ways - on the one hand you』ve lost weight and finally get to buy those incredible clothes you』ve always wanted to wear.On the other that costs money.I actually see this as a bit of an incentive to keep the weight off.when you』ve spent so much to lose weight and replace your clothes you definitely don』t want to go back to not being able to fit into them
You are much less willing to compromise on what you eat.No longer will I grab that greasy pie,carb heavy meal or nutrient deficient sandwich on the run.Instead,I thinkabout what I eat and plan (see my previous post on this here).I tend to plan ahead a lot more,for example if I know I have a lunchtime meeting I plan my meals around this so I still eat something healthy without being tempted by those cookies and snacks.I take my own food where it makes sense to,or explore places nearby where I can get something healthy to eat.I have been known to leave conferences I am attending,avoiding the carb-heavy buffet,for something to eat.This all sounds incredibly noble,and I guess to a certain extent it is,but I guess it could be seen as being inflexible and difficult to anyone who doesn』t know you
