另外，時間也是一個要考慮的問題。既然上了大學，誰也不希望老畢不了業。於是，大學生學業緊張是難免的，除了上課，還要看參考書、准備論文或做實習。放了假，喘不了兩天氣又要去打工掙學費或零花錢，正正經經談戀愛的時間都沒有，更別說動結婚的念頭。

用女大學生瑪麗昂的話說：「現在的我一點點結婚的意圖都沒有，沒時間。但我很想談戀愛。」對法國人來說，結婚和戀愛可以是兩碼事。
