"Yes, sir." said one of the boys, " but it would be more wonderful if we knew how a chick gets in to its eggs hell before hand."

Character: a boy; a wolf; some farmers, a group of sheep, a storyteller道具：鞭子、一棵大樹、一座小山、三頂草帽、三根扁擔、三把鋤頭．

Scene One: farmers working in the field (第一場：三個農民在地里勞動)
1、音樂起，三個農民邊唱邊跳出場歌詞：We are farmers, we are farmers, happy happy happy!
2、三個農民在地里勞動
Farmer A: Let』s have a rest, OK？
Farmer B C：OK!(農民下)

Scene Two: A boy is shepherding ( 第二場：一個小孩在放牧)
（男孩上，趕著一群羊， 然後走到樹下休息）
Boy: （揮舞著他手中的鞭子）Hmn, I feel very humdrum. There is nobody here to talk with me. How humdrum!(嗯，太無聊了。這兒一個說話的人也沒有。真沒意思！)
Sheep: Baa…(咩咩……)
Boy: Um, I have a good idea. I am sure people will come soon.(嗯,我有了一個好主意.我相信人們很快就會來了。)
（大聲喊）a wolf is coming .A wolf is coming.(狼來了。狼來了。)

Scene Two: Some Farmers Are Working(第二場：幾個農民在幹活)
(山下，有幾名農民在幹活。他們聽到了 男孩的聲音。)
Boy: wolf is coming. A wolf is coming . Help!(狼來了。狼來了。救命啊！)
Farmer A: Hi, do you hear anyone crying? (嗨。你聽見有人在喊叫嗎？)
Farmer B 聽) Yes. It』s the shepherd』s voice.(是啊，是那牧童的聲音。)
Farmer C: (放下手中的活。) Yes. Let』s go and help him. Let』s kill the wolf. (是的，咱們去幫他。快去打狼吧。)
(越來越多的農民停下手中的活兒，拿著棍棒和農具上山了。)

Scene Three: The Farmers Are Fooled(第三場：農民被愚弄了)
(農民們拿著棍棒和農具爬上山。)
Farmer A: Where』s the wolf? Where is it? Can you see it? (狼呢？它在哪兒？你看見了嗎？)
Farmer C: Hi! Little boy! Are you all right? We are coming to kill the wolf. Where is it going? (嗨！小孩。你沒事吧？我們是來打狼的。狼在哪兒？)
Boy: Hahaha! Sorry. There』s no wolf here. I』m joking. Haha…(哈哈哈！對不起，這兒沒有狼，我開玩笑呢。哈哈哈……)
Farmer C: No wolf? You cheat us. It is not good to do this. (沒有狼？你騙我們。這樣做不好。)
Boy: Hahaha! What fools! Hahaha…… (哈！真傻！哈哈……)
（農民們很生氣，他們下山繼續幹活了。）
(不久，農民們又聽到來之山上的同樣的叫喊聲。)

Boy: A wolf is coming. A wolf is coming. Help! Help! (狼來了。狼來了。救命啊！救命啊！)
Farmer B (對 Farmer C說): Maybe the wolf is really coming. (或許這一次狼真的來了。)
Boy: Help! Help! Wolf …(救命啊！救命啊！狼來了…….)
Farmer C: Let』s go to the hill and kill the wolf . (咱們上山打狼去。)(他們向山頂爬，有人都累得爬不到山頂了。可是當他們爬到山頂時，卻發現根本沒有狼。)
Boy: Hahaha! Don』t angry with me, uncles. Why not sit down and have a chat? (哈哈哈！大叔大伯，你們別生氣。坐下來跟我聊會天，好嗎？)
Farmer A: You naughty boy! (你這頑皮的孩子！你可不應該再騙人啊！下次再也沒有人相信你了。)
Farmer B: The boy fool us again. Let』s go!（這孩子又騙人，咱們走！）
Farmer C: What a bad boy! Don』t believe him. (這孩子真不象話！別在理了。)(男孩笑彎了腰。農民們氣憤地離開了。)

Scene Four: A wolf Is Really Coming（第四場：狼真的來了）
(一個晴朗的早上，小孩在山頂上放羊。突然，他聽到一陣怪叫聲。狼真的來了。)
Boy: (他怕極了。) Wolf ! Wolf ! The wolf is really coming. Help! Help! (狼！狼！狼真的來了。快救命啊！)
Wolf: So many fat sheep. I can have a good lunch. (這么多肥羊。我能吃頓豐盛的午餐了。)
Boy: The wolf is coming. Help ! The wolf is coming. Help!（狼來了。救命！）(可是這一次沒有人來。狼咬死一隻羊，又去追那孩子。小孩摔下山坡。他被救了。 打那以後，他再也不敢撒謊了。)

In The Air
Matt and his wife lived in the country. Matt was very stingy(吝嗇) and hated spending money. One day a fair(集市) came to the nearby town.
「』s go to the fair, Matt,」 his wife said, 「We haven』t been anywhere for a long time.」
Matt thought about this for a while. He knew he would have to spend money at the fair. At last he said, 「All right, but I』m not going to spend much money. We』ll look at things, but we won』t buy anything.」
They went to the fair and looked at all the things to buy. There were many things Matt』s wife wanted to buy ,but he would not let her spend any money.
Then , in a nearby field, they saw a small airplane.
「Fun flight!」 the notice said, 「$10 for 10 minutes.」
Matt had never been in an airplane and he wanted to go on a fun flight. However, he didn』t want to have to pay for his wife, as well.
「I』ve only got $10,」 he told the pilot. ( 飛行員). 「Can my wife come with me for free?」 The pilot wasn』t selling many tickets, so he said , 「I』ll make a bargain with you. If your wife doesn』t scream or shout, she can have a free flight.」
Matt agreed, and got into the small airplane with his wife.
The pilot took off and made his airplane do all kinds of things. At one moment it was flying upside down.
When the plane landed , the pilot said, 「O.K. your wife didn』t make a sound . She can have her ride free.」
「Thank you,」 Matt said. 「it wasn』t easy for her, you know , especi ally (尤其 ) when she fell out.」

譯文：
Matt和他的老婆住在鄉下。Matt十分吝嗇及怕花錢。有一天，隔壁村有舉辦了一個集市。
「讓我們去集市吧，Matt,」他老婆說，「我們很長時間沒有出去了。」Matt想了一會兒。他知道他去集市會花錢。最後他說，「好的。不過我將不會花很多錢。我們只看，不買。」

Matt同意了，跟他老婆一起上了飛機。

A boy found an eagle's egg and he put it in the nest of a prairie chicken. The eagle hatched and thought he was a chicken. He grew up doing what prairie chicken do-scratching at the dirt for food and flying short distances with a noisy fluttering of wings. It was a dreary life. Graally the eagle grew older and bitter. One day he and his prairie chicken friend saw a beautiful bird soaring on the currents of air, high above the mountains.

"Oh, I wish I could fly like that!" said the eagle. The chicken replied, "Don't give it another thought. That's the mighty eagle, the king of all birds-you could never be like him!" And the eagle didn't give it another thought. He went on cackling and complaining about life. He died thinking he was a prairie chicken. My friends, you too were born an eagle. The Creator intended you to be an eagle, so don』t listen to the prairie chickens!

「哦，我要能飛的那麼高該多好啊！」鷹說。山雞回答說，「不要想了，那是兇猛無比的鷹，鳥中之王---你不可能像他一樣！」於是鷹放棄了那個念頭。他繼續咯咯地叫，不停的抱怨生活。最後他死了，依然認為自己是一隻山雞。朋友們，你們天生就是雄鷹。造物主有意把你造就成一隻雄鷹，所以不要聽信山雞的話！
