A．聽力部分：由2節構成。取消了原聽力試題中的第一節播放一遍的短文對話，加大了聽力填空部分的分值，填空題由原來3個增加到5個。

B．英語知識運用部分，共三節。第一節是語法填空。定位為語法填空，將過去的詞義辨析等項納入到後兩節中考查。第二節為完形填空（一），（300詞左右）語境、語篇的理解。第三節為完形填空（二）（150詞），主觀題，根據上下文在空格處填單詞，考生將完成2篇短文任務（過去只有1篇）。

C.閱讀理解部分：本部分有3篇短文（過去為4篇），要求考生選擇最佳選項。篇幅增長了。

D.寫作部分。第一節閱讀短文，按要求填空（每空不超過3個詞）（05年開始，湖南就用）；第二節根據各小題的具體要求，簡要回答問題。第三節要求寫一篇不少於120詞左右的短文，寫作開放度加大，不再控制寫作內容。8級寫作要求。
