This book documented childhood Gorky childhood stories, in the middle is also tucked a little bitter, but also tucked the truth in life: Gorky in such difficult circumstances can be taught, much to my admiration.
Golgi in a small time is extremely enthusiastic about math. In a math class, the teacher out of a subject test students in class, entitled: "1 +2 +3 +4 + ... ... +100 =?" This can be difficult for a lot of classmates, one by one they are hurry, only the Golgi calculated, and is equal to 5050. Since then, the teacher no longer is because they are poor and look down on them, but feel that he is very mathematical talent.
We would like to Golgi study, Confucius said it well: "think of the Yan Jian Xian."

When I opened the "Gulliver's Travels," when I was immediately attracted to the immediate directory: the Adventure Lilliput, Brobdingnag adventure, fly in the country ... ... these words seemed to be imposed by magic, I saw wanted to quickly look down to those want to learn how quickly will Lilliput and Brobdingnag, the state, how to fly. With these questions I am seriously starting to read the first chapter.
This book stresses the Gulliver to the sea in his capacity as a doctor along with a boat out to sea sailing alone, after the storm hit scraped some magic country, and finally returned to their country thing. The plot twists and turns, abstruse, but also no shortage of humor. Gulliver's adventures to write vivid, very interesting. Not so much a "Gulliver's Travels" We could say was "I Gulliver's Travels" then, because I read this book almost fascinated, as if that is the same as my adventures with him. But I admire his wit and from heart courageous, he always gave me one of "adversity have arisen" feeling,
That is why he was passing through numerous re-embark on their own territory after the main reasons why I strongly would like to learn from him this spirit, otherwise, if I come across such things, then it might already kick in. the!
This book is good read, made me read a few times, or perception of the not seen enough, it was too funny, and I very much like "Gulliver's Travels" in this book. How like? You have heard my presentation is not a cardiogram it? Then this book a quick read! Keep in mind Oh, its name is called "Gulliver's Travels"!

Its simple plot relates the misfortunes of the loyal Christian slave, Tom, who, deprived of familial love and affection and destined for the harsh life of plantation slavery, doesn』t rebel or curse God, but philosophically accepts his cruel fate. He could leap overboard Cold River to save the drowning daughter of a wealthy white passenger who gratefully rewards the brave Negro by buying him.
Tom seems destined, now, to live out his life in a pleasant New Orleans mansion, spending his days reading Bible aloud and singing religious hymns with the angelic little Eva. But the child dies of tuberculosis, having first elicited a promise from her father to free the loyal Tom. The father is killed , however, in a brawl before he can fulfill his pledge and his widow is forced to sell Tom, who becomes the property of the heartless Simon Legree. He soon learns how really harsh the life of plantation can be, but he remains true to his religious training, elated by his pious acceptance of God』s will. Harassed by the evil Legree ,Tom displays his Christian charity by refusing to flog another slave .Simon Legree may not own Tom』s soul ,but he can do as he chooses with the body, and he orders two of his slaves, Sambo and Quimba, to whip the unresisting Tom, whose only responses to the merciless beating is a plea to stop in order that Legree might save his own soul.
On his deathbed, Tom charitably forgives the harsh Legree. Ironically, he lives long enough to witness the arrival of his former master』s son, come to redeem the family pledge by buying him back and granting his freedom.
The theme of Uncle Tom』s Cabin, for its all apparent simplicity, is representative of much of 19th century American fiction of the good man opposed by evil personified under the circumstance of slavery.
What strikes me is Tom』s loyalty to his religious belief. All of us has our own belief , it plays a most important part in our life, it supports us whenever we are caught in rough conditions ,it helps us get out of the dark to see the sunrise, it teach us how to adapt ourselves to different circumstances.
Life is full of ups and downs; we should hold our belief to fight against them to realize our goals!

"Uncle Tom has been a good and faithful servant (slave) for the entirety of his (now alt) Master's life. He has been dealt with fairly and kindly by the Master, his wife and son. However, the Master gets into some debt and decides to settle up by not only selling Tom, but also the young mulatto boy of the demure house slave Eliza. This is despite the Master's various estates, numerous horses, and opulant style of living.
Eliza overhears this plan, and runs away with her boy; refusing to give him up. Tom, on the other hand, decides to remain loyal to his Master's wishes and put his faith in God.
What ensues is the harrowing flight of Eliza, her husband George, and their child to Canada. Aided by kind strangers, and Godly Quakers, they fight for man's basic rights - freedom. Tom, on the other hand, is sold down the river. He witnesses many brutal and heartwrenching events before being bought by a young, intelligent dandy and his angelic daughter. It is here that we find a curious sentiment towards the humanity of the slaves, and find a northern abolition-minded woman showing her disgust at ugly and spirited little Topsy.
After a few years, when Uncle Tom is on the brink of being granted freedom by this benevolent new Master, the man dies suddenly. Tom is then sold once more to a beast of a farmer, who abuses slaves in the worst ways he can imagine.
This book does not pull any punches. It shows the brutality of slavery in explicit detail, and the narrative is amazing in its ability to capture the sentiment of the time. "
What strikes you first about The Pianist, aside from the fact that it is Roman Polanski's most personal and powerful film in years, is its rigorous lack of sentimentality. Polanski and screenwriter Ronald Harwood (The Dresser) never resort to phony Life Is Beautiful uplift in telling the true story of young pianist Wladyslaw Szpilman (Adrien Brody), a Polish Jew who survived the Nazi invasion of Warsaw (where much of this film was shot) by hiding out and living like an animal. If the film lacks the heroic heft of Schindler's List, it is second to none in unflinching honesty.
In telling this harrowing tale, adapted from Szpilman's 1946 memoir, Polanski draws on his own childhood in Poland (he escaped the Krakow ghetto, though his mother died in a concentration camp) and his soul-deep faith in the tender mercies of art. Szpilman is first seen playing Chopin for Polish radio when the Nazi bombs fall in 1939. Until the end of war, when a Nazi officer (the superb Thomas Kretschmann) asks him to play, Szpilman is mostly alone, observing the horror through windows, hearing music only in his head.
That we never get inside Szpilman's head is the film's nagging flaw. Brody (Summer of Sam) works miracles at showing bruises beyond words and tears. But the script, eager to avoid glib posturing, denies the character fullness. That note of detachment could cost The Pianist in the Oscar race, as could the statutory-rape charges against Polanski that prompted the now sixty-nine-year-old director to flee the U.S. three decades ago. Still, nothing can detract from the film as a portrait of hell so shattering it's impossible to shake.
Kung Fu Panda is an American animated comedy film released in 2008. After its release it is welcomed by most alts and children and receives very positive and favorable reviews. I think the film is trying to tell us that if you have a dream and hold on to it, you will be successful one day.
The movie is about a lazy, fat and clumsy panda called Po. He helps his goose father in his family noodle shop every day. And his father expects him to take over the shop and tell him the secret ingredient of making noodle soup. However, Po is fanatic of Chinese Kung Fu and is always dreaming to become a Kung Fu fighter.
In my opinion, the most impressive part of the movie is the sacred Dragon Scroll and the secret ingredient of making noodle soup. When Po is ready to open the sacred Dragon Scroll, which promises great power to its possessor, he finds nothing but blank. He was in despair and everyone is shocked and desperate. So Shifu has to order his students to lead the villagers to safety while he stays to delay Tai Lung for as long as he can. Then Po meets his father on the way back, and unexpectedly his father tells him the secret ingredient of the family's noodle soup: nothing. He explains that things become special when people believe they are. I think this is the theme of the movie. Once you hold a firm belief, you can get what you want.
Gulliver's Travels, Jonathan Swift's brilliant, satirical adventure, is a must-read. It is an appealing novel containing both, whimsy and wit. Swift seamlessly blends fact with fiction in this tale of an English ship surgeon. It pokes fun at the travelogues of this time period.
Lemuels Gulliver goes on four remarkable voyages across the globe and gets himself in several different situations. Symbolism, humor, and intelligence fill all three-hundred and eleven pages. The reader gets a good laugh all through the book at the expense of the main character. Gulliver has no sense of humor and adapts to every single environment that he is in. The book is well written masterpiece full of details. It is impossible to lose interest while reading each eventful chapter. The reader can never really predict what is next for the adventurous, gullible Gulliver.
Gulliver's travels is a novel that anyone who has an imagination would find entertaining and appealing. On the other hand, some members of the book club will find this book to ridiculous. This novel is not the typical satire, drama, comedy or adventure. Most books that we book worms read are serious or sometimes dark but this novel is neither. It is a fun read that doesn't take itself too seriously.
The Old Man and the Sea is the most classic and concernful novel of Hemmingway's. Its compendious expression and exciting fighting narrative attracts numerous readers. The author repeatedly emphasized his customary key thoughts in the story: despairing courage, struggling on both physically and psychologically, and the hero's brave, glory and noble character.
One of the pivotal sentences, "a man can be destroyed but not defeated" draws our attention. This sentence is gorgeous in surface but a little doubtful in a certain angle. In the end of the story the old man told to the boy that he was a loser who beaten by the sharks. With his bloody hands and the skeleton of the fish, it was really difficult to judge that he was defeated or not. However, he was undoubtedly destroyed in the fighting at the hopeless sea. Therefore, the difference between "destroy" and "defeated" was just something untraceable. We are not expected to tell one word form another, but to feel the antinomy and contact of them.
In my opinion, the most splendid thing in Hemmingway and his the Old Man and the Sea is not the VICTORY OF DEFEAT, but the relationship between the two words "defeat" and "destroy" as well as the novel and the author.
Today, I read a famous American writer Spencer. Johnson wrote "Who Moved My Cheese", which is really benefited!
"Who Moved My Cheese" the stress of the two dwarves and the story of two small mice. The article centers around the "cheese" acquisition, possession, lost, different people have different state of mind, resulting in very different strategy. Xiu Xiu is like a hurry and quickly start up? Or as Hengheng as afraid of change, and refused to deny that change? Or chirp like to see changes in the way things will get better and be able to adjust in time to adjust to the changes in their own? In fact, for any one person, living and learning in too many changes when no changes occur everywhere, whether we fear the arrival of the change. If we are able to adapt to the changes as soon as possible to adjust their own, we can do better. When we are faced with change, we fear, will feel at a loss, which is normal. As long as we can seriously deal with the fear of science, it can even help us to avoid the real danger. We do not have to refuse to change, we can change the attitude changes, changes in the enjoyment of change, to embrace change to meet the change.
On the other hand, the "cheese" is a hard won through the superior state. "Cheese" is an opportunity, but also have a core competence. How are we going to have to grasp and it? Transposition as a thinking, we often long for the Meng Jiao's "Horseshoe Chunfengdeyi radical, Chang spent every day to see" extremely frivolous and joy, but difficult to understand "small building last night, the east wind," Li Yu's sad feelings. As part of this comparison, we need to grasp today, seize the opportunity to learn to care for the protection and well-protected, such as not in the hands of "cheese" change acid, worse, do nothing in the way other people have also Jingxian.
Change is constant. Although Xiu Xiu as the general fear of change and denied that changes in the blame, but if the same chirp in time to adjust themselves to adapt to the changes are more and more, this is the times and social development e. The original "cheese" will one day consume, how do we address it? In Carnegie, "the weakness of human nature" that do not break the glass and sad, we have not remembered for the "cheese" and longing, it will be "white-lady-in-waiting Xuanzong words" helpless and wishful Fascinated. What we need is found suitable for their own roads, out of an easy life, beyond fear, which relies on local animals and look for a new "cheese." Life does not comply with the wishes of an indivial to change at any time will come, but actively to change the face of it you will find a better cheese, no matter whether we are aware of the new "cheese" is always present in a place.
Little Women.
選Tess of the D'urbervilles,目前是我最喜歡的名著。
Summary如下:
The story takes place in rural Dorsetshire, England, ring the Victorian period.
Its events are set in motion innocently enough when a clergyman, Parson Tringham, has a conversation with a simple farmer, John Durbeyfield. Tringham is a local historian; in the course of his research, he has discovered that the "Durbeyfields" are actually descended from the d'Urbervilles, a noble family whose lineage extends to the time of William the Conqueror. It is useless knowledge, really, as the family lost its land and prestige when the male heirs died out. The parson merely thinks Durbeyfield might like to know his origins as a passing historical curiosity.
Unfortunately, Durbeyfield immediately becomes fixated upon the idea of regaining his lost nobility, and using it to somehow better his family's fortunes. To this end, he sends his daughter Tess to seek employment with a family named d'Urberville living in a nearby manor house. Alec d'Urberville is delighted to meet his beautiful "cousin", and he seces her with strawberries and roses. But Alec is no relation to Tess; he has gotten his illustrious name and coat of arms by purchasing them. Alec falls in love with Tess, eventually seces/rapes her, and she leaves, pregnant; back at home, the baby is born sickly and dies.
Some time later, Tess goes to a dairy farm and begins work as a milkmaid. There she meets her true love: an aspiring young missionary from a respectable family, named Angel Clare. Angel believes Tess to be an unspoiled country girl, and completely innocent. They fall in love, but Tess does not guiltily confess her previous relationship with Alec until their wedding night. Disillusioned, Angel rejects her and Tess finds herself alone once again.
Deserted by her husband, Tess meets Alec d'Urberville again. At first, she angrily rebuffs his advances. But after her father's death, the Durbeyfield family falls upon desperately hard times, facing starvation, eviction and homelessness. Tess is forced to resume her torrid relationship with Alec, becoming his mistress in order to support her mother and siblings.
Shortly afterward Angel Clare returns from travelling abroad. A disastrous missionary tour in Brazil has ruined his health; humbled, and having had plenty of time to think, he is remorseful at his treatment of Tess. He succeeds in tracking her down -- but leaves heartbroken when he finds her cohabiting with Alec. Tess realizes that a second time, allowing Alec to manipulate and sece her has ruined her chances at happiness with Angel. She suffers a mental breakdown and murders Alec in a rage.
Running away to find Angel, Tess is able to reconcile with him; for he can finally accept and embrace her as his wife without passing moral judgment on her actions. They consummate their marriage, spending one night of happiness together before Tess is arrested, tried, and executed.
Hardy's writing often illustrates the "ache of modernism", and this theme is notable in Tess. He describes modern farm machinery with infernal imagery; also, at the dairy, he notes that the milk sent to the city must be watered down because the townspeople can't stomach whole milk. Angel's middle-class fastidiousness makes him reject Tess, a woman whom Hardy often portrays as a sort of Wessex Eve, in harmony with the natural world and so lovely and desirable that Hardy himself seems to be in love with her. During his visit without her to Brazil, the handsome young man gets so sick that he is reced to a "mere yellow skeleton." All these instances are typically interpreted as indications of the negative consequences of man's separation from nature, both in the creation of destructive machinery and in the inability to rejoice in pure nature.
Another important theme of the novel is the sexual double standard to which Tess falls victim. Hardy plays the role of Tess's only true friend and advocate, pointedly subtitling the book "a pure woman faithfully presented" and prefacing it with Shakespeare's words "Poor wounded name! My bosom as a bed/ Shall lodge thee." However, although Hardy clearly means to criticize Victorian notions of female purity, the double standard also makes the heroine's tragedy possible, and thus serves as a mechanism of Tess's broader fate. Hardy variously hints that Tess must suffer either to atone for the misdeeds of her ancestors, or to provide temporary amusement for the gods, or (with a nod to Darwin) because she possesses some small but lethal character flaw inherited from the ancient clan.
From numerous pagan and neo-Biblical references made about her, Tess can be viewed variously as an Earth goddess or as a sacrificial victim. Early in the novel, she participates in a festival for Ceres, the goddess of the harvest, and when she performs a baptism she chooses a passage from Genesis, the book of creation, over more traditional New Testament verses. At the end, when Tess and Angel come to Stonehenge, commonly believed in Hardy's time to be a pagan temple, she willingly lies down on an altar, thus fulfilling her destiny as a human sacrifice. This symbolism may help to explain her character as a personification of nature--lovely and fecund, certainly, but also exploited by the other characters in the novel.
One should also consider the motifs of animal imagery which includes the occurrence of birds in numerous scenes. Tess, for example, is the caretaker of chickens when she first goes to work for the d'Ubervilles; later, hiding in the woods, she finds wounded pheasants and compassionatelty kills them to relieve them of their misery. The incidents of bird imagery are too numerous to detail and can be found throughout the novel.

Tonight I watched the movie for the third time. I really enjoy this film so much.
So what's your choice between being a common person or a hero with people's respects? Most people will choose the latter. But what will be your choice if the cost is laying your lover among the risks? What will it be if the cost is you can never tell the girl, who you love so much, that you love her? The spider man had this contradiction. But finally he still chose the latter, not in order to be a hero, but to make this word peaceful.
I was so moved by the words the Aunt Mary said:
You will never guess what he wants to be, the spider man. He knows the hero when he sees one, too a few characters out there, flying all around out there, saving old girls like me. Lord knows kids like Henry need hero courageous, sacrificing for people, setting examples for all of us. Everybody loves a hero. People enthrone them, cheer them, scream their names and years later they will tell how they stood in the rain for hours just to get a glimpse the one who taught them to hold on to stand longer. I believe there is a hero in all of us. They keep us be honest, give us strength, make us noble, and finally allow us to die with proud. Ever though sometimes we have to initiatively give up the thing we want most, even our dreams. Spider man did that for Henry, so he wants to know where he is gone. He needs him.
The spider man got much from these words, so did I. And what about you? what's the hero lying in you?
