On English Learning

A lot of times I have been asked how to learn English to the extent of my level. And a lot of times I told people to do intensive reading and a lot of chatting with different peoples. It doesn』t matter he or she is a native English-speaker or not. Sometimes I think my way works as well as the ways like 「 English」 and 「The Reversed Way of Learning English」 as developed by Professor Zhong Daolong. CE attaches a lot of importance to talking, Zhong pays heavy attention to listening, and me, I only look at so much on intensive reading.

I look up every new word from a dictionary, note down everything about it from the dictionary to my book, the text one time, underline all the different grammatical elements, translate the whole thing one time, and then work out the exercises. The last thing is to read through it.

It sounds like very ll, but I still have a plus besides the above: talk with people in English on whatever topic that we are interested in.

That is all.

I think it is very easy. You don』t have to think about if it is worthwhile. Just do it. 2 weeks you will see the difference.

So far nobody has ever worked out a difference with my way, but if they had stuck to it, they would have made it.

Looking back, I have got so much benefit out of my English, and all that is based on the tough work behind it.
