1. Learn some useful words and expressions:
collect, value, hobby, used to do sth., rock, stone, doll, coin, be interested in, be fond of, act
2. Use「prefer, like, love, enjoy, be interested in, be fond of」to express likes and dislikes:
(1) I am interested in playing basketball.
(2) I love singing and playing the guitar.
(3) I enjoy dancing to music.
(4) I like reciting poems.
(5) I am fond of acting.
(6) I prefer playing soccer.
3. Talk about interests and hobbies:

Step 1 Review 第一步 復習(時間:10分鍾)
1. (師生對話,談論自己的業余愛好,引出本課的重點句型和詞彙。)
T: Do you have any hobbies? What are they?
(利用兩分鍾時間進行師生對話。)
T: What』s your hobby, S1?
S1: I like swimming.
T: What do you love doing, S2?
S2: I love reading.
T: What do you enjoy doing, S3?
S3: I enjoy playing basketball.
T: S4, what do you prefer doing?
S4: I prefer listening to music.
2. (由己及他,展示教材封面,師生共同談論四個主人公的各自喜好。)
T: Look at them. What are their hobbies?
Ss:Jane likes singing and playing the guitar.
Maria loves dancing.
Michael prefers playing basketball.
Kangkang enjoys playing soccer.
(師生對話,用同樣的方式引出其他表達喜好的短語。)

T: Look! There are many stamps here. They are very beautiful and interesting. We can learn a lot about people, places, history and special moments from them. Some of them are of great value. Collecting stamps is my hobby.

Step 2 Presentation 第二步 呈現(時間:10分鍾)
1. (教師設置並板書聽力任務,讓學生帶著問題聽1a錄音。抓取重要信息。)
T: Now listen to 1a and answer the questions.
(1) What』s Maria』s hobby?
(2) What about Michael』s?
T: Well, who knows Maria』s hobby? S1, please.
S1: Her hobby is collecting stamps.
T: Good! What about Michael』s? S2, please.
S2: His hobby is collecting telephone cards and paintings.
T: Very good! Now listen again and answer the questions.
2. (讓學生再聽1a錄音,並回答下列問題。分解對話內容。)
T: Listen to the tape again, then answer the following questions.
(1) Why does Maria love collecting stamps?
(2) What does Maria learn from the stamps?
(3) What did Michael use to enjoy?
3. (讓學生兩人一組練習對話,並標出關鍵詞,根據學生情況講解重難點。)

Step 3 Consolidation 第三步 鞏固(時間:5分鍾)
1. (教師播放1a錄音,然後學生進行人機對話接龍。)

3. (學生兩人一組表演1a,可根據黑板上的關鍵詞,不局限於原文。)
Step 4 Practice 第四步 練習(時間:10分鍾)
1. (讓學生看1b的圖1,圖3和圖6,學習新單詞stone, doll和coin。完成1b,在喜歡的圖中畫笑臉 ,不喜歡的畫哭臉 。)

2. (讓學生兩人一組進行1c的練習。)
T: Pair work. Make conversations after the example, using the collections in 1b.
Example:
S1: What do you love collecting?

3. (1)(展示一個紅心的課件,並讓學生說出表達愛好的詞或短語,老師同時將表達愛好的詞或短語出示在「心」的周圍,然後七人一組用它們做問答練習,不要重復使用。)

S2: I prefer watching TV. What』s your hobby?
S3: I love drawing. What』s your hobby?
S4: I enjoy playing the piano. What』s your hobby?
S5: I am interested in playing basketball. What』s your hobby?

Step 5 Project 第五步 綜合探究活動(時間:10分鍾)
1. (將學生分為四組做調查,了解班上學生的愛好並統計出每種愛好的人數。注意使用一般疑問句和prefer, like, love, enjoy, be interested in和be fond of。)
