Going on a Picnic
Today was Sunday. The weather was fine and warm. The sky was very clear and blue. My classmates and I were very happy， because we went out for a picnic at Nanshan Hill. We went to Nanshan Hill by bike with fruits， eggs， meat， vegetables， knives and some other things.
About one and a half hours later， we came to a nice place at the foot of the hill. There were many beautiful flowers and green trees. Birds sang their sweet songs. How pleased we were！ Then we were busy with the picnic. Some of us were getting water， some were cutting the meat and vegetables and cook， others were sitting on the grass and waiting for nice lunch. At about 13 o'clock， our lunch was ready. We all sat around on the green grass， singing， talking， eating and drinking. At about 16：00 we began packing for our return.
What a nice time we were having！

This week I didn』t do many wonderful things.
I went to learn developing film with my classmates on July 1st. It was easy and we all got good marks.
On July 4th, I went to school to learn, because I will be a junior three student soon. We would have to learn some lessons in advance. The weather was very hot. But I didn』t feel that learning lessons was boring. Some teachers are new. They are good I think, although they are all looked strict. And the lessons were not too bad.
This week was the beginning of this summer holiday, but it was really typical .
這個星期我沒有做許多美好的事物。
我去了解發展中國家電影與我的同學7月1日。這是很容易，我們都很好的痕跡。

Mostly, I went to school to have lessons this week. It was hard but we must experience, wasn』t it?
But on Saturday I finished my first learning. And the second learning will begin on Aug 1st. I can have a break and do what I want to do.
On Saturday I went shopping. Indeed I didn』t buy many things. I just wanted to relax.
And then I played on the computer, sang , watched TV, etc. I just wanted to amuse myself.
I went to swim on Sunday, although I didn』t swim very well. I felt cool ring this hot time. I also played with my mother. She couldn』t swim so I taught her. I sometimes played a trick on her. I had a good time there.

This week I mostly stayed at home and did some homework.
Last Saturday HP6 had just come out. And many Harry Potter fans went to buy it. I did』t buy it because it was too expensive, but I downloaded it on the Internet. It was in English. Many people went on translating as soon as the book came out. I also took part in it and became a part of the translating group. From this group, I first realized that my English was so poor. I needed to look up in the dictionary all the time. It was really troublesome. But I withheld and withheld. I had translated many paragraphs. I was the youngest among the translators, but I didn』t feel there was much pressure. This work was hard but I really felt happy. We had already finished nearly 20 chapters.

第一天：THE NEWSPAPER 報 紙
Nowadays the newspaper possesses considerable value Everybody should read it. It supplies us with a variety of news every day. It tells us the political situation of the world. If we form the habit of reading the newspaper, we shall (will) get enough knowledge to cope with our circumstances.
現今報紙擁有極大的價值，人人都應該看它。它每天提供我們各種類類的消息。它告訴我們世界政治局勢。如果我們養成看報的習慣，我們就能得到足夠的知識來因應我們的環境。
學生雖然每天須做功課，但他們至少應該勻出一兩個小時來看報。哪些，他們不但能增加知識而且也能趕上時代。總而言之，看報對學生很有益處。

第二天：MY DAILY LIFE 我的日常生活
Though my daily life is extremely monotonous, I try hard to adapt myself to it. Why? Because I intend to be a good student. I wish to render service to my country.
I get up at six o』clock every day. After I wash my face and brush my teeth, I begin to review my lessons. I go to school at seven o』clock.
After school is over, I return home. We usually have supper at seven o』clock.Then I begin to do my homework. I want to finish it before I go to bed.
雖然我的日常生活十分單調，但我卻竭力設法去適應它。為什麼？因為我打算做一個好學生，希望將來為國家服務。
我每天六點起床、洗臉刷牙後，就開始復習功課，七點鍾我就去上學。

Do you mind being called a bad student? Of course not. So far as I know, everybody intends to be (become) a model student.
However, to be a model student is by no means an easy thing. First, he must do his best to obtain knowledge. A man without sufficient knowledge will not succeed. Secondly, he must remember to improve his health. Only a strong man can do great tasks. Thirdly, he should receive moral ecation. If his conct is not good, no one will consider making friends with him.

There is no doubt that happiness is the most precious thing in the world. Without it, life will be empty and meaningless. If you wish to know how to get happiness, you must pay attention to the following two points.
First, health is the secret of happiness (the key to happiness). Only a strong man can enjoy the pleasure of life.
Secondly, happiness consists in contentment. A man who is dissatisfied with his present condition is always in distress.
無疑的快樂是世界上最寶貴的東西。沒有它，人生將是空虛的而且毫無意義的。如果你希望知道如何獲得快樂，你須注意下面兩點。
健康是快樂的要訣。唯有身體強壯的人才能享受人生的樂趣。

As is well known, books teach us to learn life, truth, science and many other useful things. They increase our knowledge, broaden our minds and strengthen our character. In other words, they are our good teachers and wise friends. This is the reason why our parents always encourage us to read more books.
Reading is a good thing, but we must pay great attention to the choice of books. It is true that we can derive benefits from good books. However, bad books will do us more harm than good.
如眾所周知，書籍教我們學習人生，真理，科學以及其它許多有用的東西。它們增加我們的知識，擴大我們的心胸並加強我們的品格。換句話說，它們是我們的良師益友。這是為什麼我們的父母終是鼓勵我們要多讀書的理由。

While we were walking along the road, the sun was shining brightly and the breeze was blowing gently. We saw the beautiful flowers smile (smiling) at us and heard the birds sing (singing) their sweet songs on the trees. The scenery was indeed very pretty (beautiful).
When we felt tired, we returned home. We saw Mother (our mother) wait (waiting) for us at the door.

第七天：BE PATRIOTIC 要愛國
It is the ty of every citizen to make the country rich and powerful (To make the country rich and strong is...). In order to accomplish this object one must be patriotic (love his country). I consider this an unchangeable truth.
How can a student love his country (be patriotic)? I find my answer very simple and clear. He must study hard and store up knowledge so as to serve his (the) country in the future. If every student can do according to what I said, the country will certainly be rich and powerful.
要使國家富強是每個公民的責任。為了達到此目的，必須愛國。我認為這是一條不易的定理。
一個學生如何才能愛國呢？我發覺答復很簡單明了。他必須用功讀書並積儲知識以便將來服務國家。如果每個學生能按照我所說的去做，國家一定會富強。

An English proverb says that time is money. I consider it (this) wrong. Why? Because we all know that we can earn money be work but can not in any way get back time (in anyway). For this reason, we may (can) say that time is more valuable than money.
Many people do not know the value of time. It (this) is indeed a great pity. We must bear (keep) in mind that wasting time is equal to wasting your life.

If you know English, you van make a trip round the world without being misunderstood.In the second place, most valuable books, newspapers and magazines are written in English. If you wish (hope) to get knowledge, you must learn English.
如果你要問我們為什麼我們要學英文。我的答復很簡單明了。現在讓我來把我的理由一一列舉在下面：英文已成為一種國際語言。如果你通曉它，你可以環游世界不會被人誤解。大多數有價值的書籍，報紙和雜志都是用英文寫的。如果你希望獲得知識，你必須學習英文。
第十天：MY BIRTHDAY 我的生日
Yesterday was my birthday, so some of my classmates sent me presents. Mother prepared a tea party for me. I invited all of them to come and take part in it.The tea party began at half past six. There were cold drinks and refreshments. We ate, talked and laughed. We felt that we were the happiest men in the world.Time passed quickly. In a twinkling, the clock on the wall struck nine. We could not but say 「Good-bye」 to one another.

Though Sundays are set aside as a day for rest, we must make good use of them.We know that our school lessons are usually not sufficient. We should often utilize Sundays to read reference books. In this way we will increase our knowledge. Besides, we must be engaged in sports or outing so as to strengthen our bodies.
我們許多人終是把星期日毫無目的地消度掉。這確實是十分可惜。我們很少能從星期日的寶貴時光中獲得益處。雖然星期日是被指定為一個休息的日子，但是我們卻應好好利用它。我們知道我們學校的功課通常是不夠的。我們應時常利用星期日來閱讀參考書。如此我們的知識就會增加了。此外，我們必須從事運動或郊遊以便強壯我們的身體。

There is an English proverb which says (saying) 「Honesty is the best policy.」 It signifies the importance of honesty.
What are the benefits of honesty? If you are honest to others, they will be honest to you in return. When you are sad, they will comfort you. When you are in trouble, they will help you.
There is no enumerating the evils of dishonesty here. In a word, a dishonest man will be looked down upon by others and (be) regarded as a public enemy.
英國有一句諺語說「誠為上策」。它說明了誠的重要性。
誠的益處是什麼？如果你對他人誠實，他們也會對你誠實作為報答。當你憂悉的時候，他們會安慰你。當你是處在困難中的時候，他們會幫助你。
無法在這里數述不誠實的害處。一言以蔽之，一個不誠實的人會被人看輕的而且被看作為一個公敵。
第十三天：HOW EXERCISE HELPS 運動的利益
If our bodies are not strong, our spirit to do things will certainly be quite ll. And at the same time, we are lack of energy (ies) to study. Diseases will only attack the weak, but not the strong.
Why are our bodies not strong? Because we do not pay attention to exercise. For this reason, we students must often take different kinds (sorts) of exercise in the gym.
Exercise helps us (to) strengthen our bodies and avoid disease. It also teaches us cooperation, for most exercise is played by team.
如果我們的身體不強壯，我們做事的精神一定會十分遲鈍。而且同時，我們也缺少足夠的精力來讀書。疾病只為侵擊體弱的人而不是強壯的人。
為什麼我們的身體會不強壯呢？因為我們不注意運動。基於此種理由，我們學生必須時常在運動場做不同種類的運動。
運動幫助我們強壯身體並避免疾病。它也教我們合作，因為大多數的運動都是團體遊玩的。

第十四天：THE BENEFITS OF TRAVELING 旅行的益處
I am always interested in traveling. My reasons are quite (extremely) simple and clear. If anybody is not satisfied with my viewpoint(s), I shall be greatly surprised at his ways of thinking.
In the first place, traveling increases our knowledge. Only by traveling can we see （因為用（only）開頭，主動詞須顛倒）things outside our home town.
In the second place, traveling is good to our health. While we are traveling, we usually exercise our bodies.
In conclusion, I earnestly hope that everybody must seize (grasp at) the opportunity of traveling.
我對旅行終是感覺有趣。我的理由非常簡單時了。如果任何人對我的觀點不滿意的話，我將對他的想法會大大吃驚。

My aim is to become a good citizen so as to be able to render service to the (my) country. However, to become a good citizen is not an easy thing. He has many ties to fulfill.The first ty of a good citizen is to love his country. He is to (must) be ready to sacrifice even his own life for the country.His second ty is to obey the law and help the government (to) maintain order. If everybody can do so, the country will be rich and strong (powerful).
我的志向是做一個好公民以便能給國家效力。然而，做一個好公民不是一件容易的事情。他有許多責任要盡。一個好公民第一件責任是愛他的國家。他須准備為國家犧牲自己的生命。他第二件責任是服從法律並且幫助政府維持治安。如果人人都能這樣做的話，國家必定富強。
第十六天：THE NATIONAL FLAG 國旗
it is the ty of every citizen to honor the national flag. Why? Because the national flag is the symbol of a (the) country. To respect it means to respect the country. In other words, if a man loves his country, he must love the national flag.
In school, the national flag is usually raised at a certain time every day. Then the principal, teachers, staff and students are to (must) stand before it and sing the national anthem. It is indeed extremely meaningful to attend such a ceremony.
尊敬國旗是每個公民的責任（義務）。為什麼？因為國旗是國家的象徵。尊敬它意思就是尊敬國家。換句話說，如果一個人愛國，他必須愛國旗。
在學校里，通常每天定時要升旗。那時，校長，老師，教職員學生教師將恭敬地站在它前面並且唱國歌。參加此項儀式確實非常有意義。

第十七天：THE IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION 教育的重要性
It is impossible for us to make our country rich and strong without developing ecation. Why? Because ecation gives people knowledge and teaches them how to become good citizens so as to be able to serve their country. No wonder they say that ecation decides the progress, prosperity and civilization of a country.At present (Nowadays) most countries in (of) the world are enforcing compulsory ecation. It is necessary for all kinds of people, both rich and poor, to receive ecation. Taiwan is an exception as well not.
我們不可能使我們的國家富強而不發展教育。為什麼？因為教育給予人民知識並教他們如何成為好公民以便能為國家效力。難怪，有人說教育決定一個國家的進步，繁榮與文化。現在世界大多數的國家都在實施強迫教育。所有各類人民不論貧富都必須接受教育。台灣也不例外。

It is a matter of course that instry will bring us success, wealth and good luck. I am sure that a hard-working person can always succeed in the work which he wants to do. This is unchangeable truth.
Idleness is the opposite of instry. It is the source of all evil. An idle man only enjoys playing and making pleasures. That he is doomed to failure is of no doubt. We should not follow his example.
勤勉會帶給我們成功，財富和好運乃是當然之事。我確信一個苦乾的人終是能夠做成功他所要做的工作。這是不易之定理。
懶惰是勤勉的反面。它是萬惡之源泉。一個懶惰的人只享受玩耍和尋樂。他命運註定失敗是毫無疑問的。我們不應學他的榜樣。
第十九天：MY NATIVE TOWN 我的故鄉
My native town is X. We have settled down here since my grandfather was a child. In other words, my family has lived here for more than one hundred years.
It is a small village. There are about one thousand inhabitants. Most of them are farmers. The mode of their living is very simple. However, they have already possessed television sets and refrigerators. They made up their minds to live a modern life.
我的故鄉是X。我們自從祖父是小孩時，就定居在此地。換句話說，我們家人在此地已經住了一百餘年了。
這個小村莊。居民大約有一千人。他們大部分是農夫。他們的生活方式很簡單。然而，他們已擁有電視和冰箱。他們下定決心要過一個現代的生活。
第二十天：MY SCHOOL LIFE 我的學校生活
When I was six years old, I began to go to school. The first school (which) I attended was a primary school. There were many subjects (which were taught in the school, such as Chinese, arithmetic, history, geography, drawing and so forth. Since I was (became) a student, I studied very hard. My parents were quite proud of me.
After I had studied there for three years, I entered a junior high school. When I was twelve years old, I became a student of a senior high school. I still studied very hard. Except on sick leave I was never absent from class. Everybody looked upon me as a model student.
我六歲的時候，就開始上學了。我第一個上的學校是一所國小。學校里教的課目有許多，諸如國文，算術，史地，畫圖等等。既然我是一個學生，我就用功讀書。我父母深以我為榮。

Though the people in the world are all opposed to war, they can by no means avoid it. This is indeed a regrettable thing.
War is very terrible. Everybody hears it with fear. In a war thousands and thousands of lives will be lost and a large amount of money (will be) wasted. It brings us untold miseries and damage.
To sum up, so long as war is unavoidable, human beings cannot enjoy lasting peace. How tragical their fate is!
雖然世界的人民都反對戰爭，但是他們卻無法能夠避免它。這確實是件非常令人遺憾的事情。
戰爭是非常可怕的。每個人聽到它都害怕。在一次戰爭中，成千成萬的人喪失了生命，大量金錢浪費了。它帶給我們無窮盡的痛苦和損失。
總而言之，只要戰爭不可避免，人類不可能享受持久的和平。他們的命運是多麼悲慘呀！

五年級的學習生活結束了。我們又迎來了一個新的暑假。在這暑假的第一周，我的3A學校也開課了。我很高興。因為參加3A學校的學習，我不但可以學到好多知識，還可以和我奧數班的同學在一起玩。
今天是開學的第一天，校長對我們發表了重要講話。校長說：「你們這個假期的學習任務十分艱巨。因為有好多的重點中學，如西工大附中、交大附中等，都要來我們這里選拔學生。如果你考好了，就會被錄取到他們的初中去。只有上了他們的初中，將來才可能上他們的重點高中。上了重點高中，你將來才有可能考上重點大學。所以說，這是你們人生的一次重大選擇。這次選擇將會影響你們一生。」校長又說：「我們這次是奧語和奧數捆綁教學，每天老師都要給大家布置好多的作業，這叫強化教學。希望大家要好好的配合。你們要自找壓力，有壓力才有動力，有動力才能學好。希望你們都能從我們這個教學班考進重點學校。」
聽了校長的話，我就暗暗下定決心：一定要不怕吃苦，好好學習，爭取在沖刺名校的戰斗中「榜上有名」，「一炮打響」！
第二周 7月14日 星期四 晴
今天放學回來，媽媽還沒做好晚飯。我坐在窗前，拿起爸爸給我新買的「小故事中的大智慧」系列叢書——《虛掩的門》。我隨手一翻，一個醒目的標題映入我的眼簾——「大器之材」。我急不可耐的讀了下去。

在這周，最讓人操心的就是3A學校的考試了。因為這期我們學習的內容太多了。奧語有許多內容不但要理解，而且還要背誦。什麼《三字經》、《增廣賢文》、成語接龍、古詩和詞語，要理解和背誦的東西真多。為了考試能夠取得好成績，我每天晚上都在背誦、默寫和復習，加上還有奧數、閱讀和作文，我每天都睡得很晚很晚。

On the one hand, some wealthy people who either are the boss of the private company or the white-collar managers in big companies have their private cars. On the other hand, some young people who are future-minded buy private cars ahead of their income by loans from banks.
Is it a good or bad thing to have a private car? Just as a coin has two sides , so there are both advantages and disadvantages of having a private car. So far as its advantages are concerned, there are two examples for this. First , it plays a very important part in providing its owner with convenience, enabling the owner to go where he wants to quickly and easily. Second, it can help its owner to save a lot of time which may be wasted by waiting for other vehicles.
However, it also has its disadvantages . For one thing, it will have a negative effect on both the crowded traffic system and the environment in the long run. For another, it places burden on the public utility in providing more parking lots.
In short , owning a private car has both its advantages and disadvantages. It is advisable that we should pay much attention to the environmental protection by not having a private car if we have little or no practical use of the private car.

今天早上我6點鍾就醒來瞭然後到廚房為媽媽做了一碗牛肉西紅柿面，媽媽看了我為她做的早飯很高興，最後她把面條全部吃了，說很好吃，還說我長大了，不在是小孩了，可以自己照顧自己了，我聽了也很開心。下午的時候我和我最好的朋友去游泳，游泳池人很多。然後我們去吃了很多東西，它們都很美味。我最喜歡吃的是雪糕,所以我吃了兩個.16點我們一起回家了.她在我們家吃的飯，晚餐十分豐盛.

2.Tomorrow is New Year』s Day, my family have had a completely cleaning for two days. Then my father and I decorated our flat and my mother cooked delicious food for our meal. After supper we watched TV program. How happy we were!

6.I am planning to spend my summer holiday on sports this year. Playing basketball is always my favourite, so some of my classmates and I will form a small team and play basketball together. Sometimes we may have a match against some other teams and I do enjoy the sense when we win the game.
