Spring Festival ,known as the Chinese New Year, is the most important holiday in China.From late January to early February,Chinese people are busy preparing for the New Year.They clean their houses ,have their hair cut,and buy new clothes .Jiaozi or mpling is most popular.To those who live far away from their home,this festival is also a framily reunion occasion.
And they often go back home to celebrate the festival with their family.The first day of the new year is the time when people visit their friends adn wish each other good luck in the new year.

Today was very clear with no wind.
I practiced basktball in the morning.Then I went to the movies with Sandy.We saw White Nights.It was a very nice movie!I liked "Say you,say me"best of all the songs.I'm fond of seeing musicals.The dancing is very beautiful and the music is pretty.

In my dream

Last night ,I dreamed I became a very beautiful brid.I dreamed that I was in a forest. In tht forest,there were a lot of animals.Then,an old bird told us,"we have a very beautiful forest,we should therefore protect it from pollution."All the animals agreed with him.
But the second day,people came into our forest.Many animals were caught.The people wanted to build house and parks in our forest.Many old trees were felled.And then suddenly,nothing was left standing.
I was so shocked and then I bursted out crying.I woke up at midnight.It was only a dream.

A book exhibition

Dropped in at National Library to see the National Book Exhibition which will close today.Suprised at the fact that so many kinds of books are published in our country.Thought the children's books with many pages of colorful illustrations were made very nicely.Bought a of the Chinese version of English and American Short Stories at a 20 per cent discount.Am going to read this through in this good season for reading.

Though my daily life is extremely monotonous, I try hard to adapt myself to it. Why? Because I intend to be a good student. I wish to render service to my country.

I get up at six o』clock every day. After I wash my face and brush my teeth, I begin to review my lessons. I go to school at seven o』clock.

After school is over, I return home. We usually have supper at seven o』clock.Then I begin to do my homework. I want to finish it before I go to bed.

雖然我的日常生活十分單調，但我卻竭力設法去適應它。為什麼？因為我打算做一個好學生，希望將來為國家服務。

我每天六點起床、洗臉刷牙後，就開始復習功課，七點鍾我就去上學。

Do you mind being called a bad student? Of course not. So far as I know, everybody intends to be (become) a model student.

However, to be a model student is by no means an easy thing. First, he must do his best to obtain knowledge. A man without sufficient knowledge will not succeed. Secondly, he must remember to improve his health. Only a strong man can do great tasks. Thirdly, he should receive moral ecation. If his conct is not good, no one will consider making friends with him.

你價意被稱為壞學生嗎？當然不。就我所知，每個人都打算做模範學生。

First, health is the secret of happiness (the key to happiness). Only a strong man can enjoy the pleasure of life.

Secondly, happiness consists in contentment. A man who is dissatisfied with his present condition is always in distress.

無疑的快樂是世界上最寶貴的東西。沒有它，人生將是空虛的而且毫無意義的。如果你希望知道如何獲得快樂，你須注意下面兩點。

健康是快樂的要訣。唯有身體強壯的人才能享受人生的樂趣。

Reading is a good thing, but we must pay great attention to the choice of books. It is true that we can derive benefits from good books. However, bad books will do us more harm than good.

如眾所周知，書籍教我們學習人生，真理，科學以及其它許多有用的東西。它們增加我們的知識，擴大我們的心胸並加強我們的品格。換句話說，它們是我們的良師益友。這是為什麼我們的父母終是鼓勵我們要多讀書的理由。

It is the ty of every citizen to make the country rich and powerful (To make the country rich and strong is...). In order to accomplish this object one must be patriotic (love his country). I consider this an unchangeable truth.
How can a student love his country (be patriotic)? I find my answer very simple and clear. He must study hard and store up knowledge so as to serve his (the) country in the future. If every student can do according to what I said, the country will certainly be rich and powerful.
要使國家富強是每個公民的責任。為了達到此目的，必須愛國。我認為這是一條不易的定理。
一個學生如何才能愛國呢？我發覺答復很簡單明了。他必須用功讀書並積儲知識以便將來服務國家。如果每個學生能按照我所說的去做，國家一定會富強。

What are the benefits of honesty? If you are honest to others, they will be honest to you in return. When you are sad, they will comfort you. When you are in trouble, they will help you.
There is no enumerating the evils of dishonesty here. In a word, a dishonest man will be looked down upon by others and (be) regarded as a public enemy.

第十三天：HOW EXERCISE HELPS 運動的利益
If our bodies are not strong, our spirit to do things will certainly be quite ll. And at the same time, we are lack of energy (ies) to study. Diseases will only attack the weak, but not the strong.
Why are our bodies not strong? Because we do not pay attention to exercise. For this reason, we students must often take different kinds (sorts) of exercise in the gym.
Exercise helps us (to) strengthen our bodies and avoid disease. It also teaches us cooperation, for most exercise is played by team.
如果我們的身體不強壯，我們做事的精神一定會十分遲鈍。而且同時，我們也缺少足夠的精力來讀書。疾病只為侵擊體弱的人而不是強壯的人。
為什麼我們的身體會不強壯呢？因為我們不注意運動。基於此種理由，我們學生必須時常在運動場做不同種類的運動。

He is to (must) be ready to sacrifice even his own life for the country.His second ty is to obey the law and help the government (to) maintain order. If everybody can do so, the country will be rich and strong (powerful).
我的志向是做一個好公民以便能給國家效力。然而，做一個好公民不是一件容易的事情。他有許多責任要盡。一個好公民第一件責任是愛他的國家。他須准備為國家犧牲自己的生命。他第二件責任是服從法律並且幫助政府維持治安。如果人人都能這樣做的話，國家必定富強。

第十六天：THE NATIONAL FLAG 國旗
it is the ty of every citizen to honor the national flag. Why? Because the national flag is the symbol of a (the) country. To respect it means to respect the country. In other words, if a man loves his country, he must love the national flag.
In school, the national flag is usually raised at a certain time every day. Then the principal, teachers, staff and students are to (must) stand before it and sing the national anthem. It is indeed extremely meaningful to attend such a ceremony.
尊敬國旗是每個公民的責任（義務）。為什麼？因為國旗是國家的象徵。尊敬它意思就是尊敬國家。換句話說，如果一個人愛國，他必須愛國旗。

It is impossible for us to make our country rich and strong without developing ecation. Why? Because ecation gives people knowledge and teaches them how to become good citizens so as to be able to serve their country. No wonder they say that ecation decides the progress, prosperity and civilization of a country.At present (Nowadays) most countries in (of) the world are enforcing compulsory ecation. It is necessary for all kinds of people, both rich and poor, to receive ecation. Taiwan is an exception as well not.
我們不可能使我們的國家富強而不發展教育。為什麼？因為教育給予人民知識並教他們如何成為好公民以便能為國家效力。難怪，有人說教育決定一個國家的進步，繁榮與文化。現在世界大多數的國家都在實施強迫教育。所有各類人民不論貧富都必須接受教育。台灣也不例外。

It is a matter of course that instry will bring us success, wealth and good luck. I am sure that a hard-working person can always succeed in the work which he wants to do. This is unchangeable truth.
Idleness is the opposite of instry. It is the source of all evil. An idle man only enjoys playing and making pleasures. That he is doomed to failure is of no doubt. We should not follow his example.
勤勉會帶給我們成功，財富和好運乃是當然之事。我確信一個苦乾的人終是能夠做成功他所要做的工作。這是不易之定理。

My native town is X. We have settled down here since my grandfather was a child. In other words, my family has lived here for more than one hundred years.

小學教材較之初中教材，更加成熟，以口語訓練為主，但課本所包含內容已涉及絕大部分初中內容。各個學校對教材的教法和教的深淺度不一。
從單詞角度看，有的學讓學生背藍體字的單詞和片語；而有的學校要求學生黑體和藍體字的都背。這些單詞中有不少在初中三年裡還要再次學到，如help和help…with…在小學5A中就已經作為藍體字出現。而到了初中，在7A教材中又再次作為生詞出現。甚至有些單詞在初中基本上沒有出現，如5A Unit9 Shapes里的三角形triangle和長方形rectangle兩個單詞。因我市各區對小學英語教學的要求不同，各區小學學生對單詞的掌握程度也不同。鼓樓區和玄武區的學生對小學課本里出現的單詞基本上全都掌握，而我區小學畢業的學生多數只能掌握藍體字的基本詞彙。這在單詞上就造成了學生在小學時英語學習的兩極分化。
從語法的角度看，小學使各種語法時態就已經出現，如一般過去時在小學6A的教材中已經開始學習，而初中教材7B Unit4才開始學習。從各種句型結構看，小學就已經出現各個不同的句型結構，如why don』t you … would you like to do。初中再次學習就有點重復勞動。從音標教學看，小學三年級開始基本上每個單元都有音標學習，然而到了初中不少學生對音標很陌生。
綜上所述，小學教材雖然已經比較成熟，但內容較深，詞彙量太大，加之各區縣學校的要求和教法的不統一，及各個學校的重視程度不同，學生在小學畢業時的英語基礎也就不一樣，學習興趣也不高，對英語學習也沒有正確的認識。學生在小學英語學習中的兩極分化也很明顯。
筆者認為小學教材應該簡化，變得更加容易生動，以游戲和交際為主，減少生僻的英語單詞，保留生活中的常用單詞，使英語學習正真的生活化。而語法教學應盡量避免。對於音標教學應該加強，但老師在教授音標前應接受系統的培訓，以免出現教學上的失誤。同時一定要很好的研究小學教材和初中教材的銜接，避免不必要的重復勞動。小學已經強調學習過的部分，在初中應該弱化，而不是作為新的內容再學一遍。如果兩者正真銜接的很好。《初中英語預備課程》一書就沒有必要再學了。另外，小學和初中的教師應該就小學和初中教材接受系統的培訓，要做到對小學和初中的教材全都了解掌握，這樣才能緊扣學生實際教學。

很累啊，開心，起碼證明自己還是個有用的人，前晚睡不著，昨天又要坐車了，天啊，去到會議室，只想睡覺，想不到還那麼多人，很多外省的,有些還是在職的羅定老師也過來考。特別是英語的，本科也不少，但只招兩個。算，當個經驗吧，反正都不用復習的，面試和試教怕什麼，大學時的英語口語考試也是瞎朦過去的，很多英語過了6級的同學考的口試成績還沒自己好呢，其實他們專業基礎是好的。但老師們經常會拿口語來判斷學英語的人的專業水平，因為寫作是基礎，口語是基礎上的發展加應變能力，但對於我來說就特別了，基礎對於我來說很容易犯錯，就是說基礎不扎實（即筆試）因為不喜歡背，最討厭就是背了。

面試也考基礎，但范圍沒那麼大，多數是表達能力和應變能力，雖然一樣是全英回答，怕什麼，既然來到了，就來一個嘛，在會議室等待中聊天，喝了不少水。報名時是最後一天8月8號下午，所以英語我是最後一個考，一進考場，哇，我還第一次見那麼多評委，有十幾二十個吧，考時緊張，全英對話啊，沒想到他會考論述問答題，問題都沒看清楚就答了，反正也沒看書，隨機答吧。課都沒說完，經常被她問的問題打斷，答完後，在場的評委的表情和大學時口語老師是一樣的，眼睛好象拚命的睜開一樣。期間要回答黑板的語法題，天啊，我居然犯了個低級錯誤，寫錯了很簡單的語法題，還好用之前面試兼職時的招牌笑容打了個完場。考完回到會議室，問了考英語的人都沒犯那語法錯誤，怎麼自己就那麼粗心呢。心裡真的沒底啊，我雖然不是最好的，但也不想做最差的，不想考得太爛的，中午教育局請吃飯，想走了，因為多半考不上了，對手那麼強，有些是外語系畢業的還是本科呢，但也看看成績吧。

吃完就回會議室休息，和其他人聊天，有個是雲城區在職老師來陪堂妹考，好漂亮啊，她不說還不知道她是個初中女孩的媽媽，教了15年了。外省的，難怪那麼漂亮。和她們聊了一個下午，原來她是跟丈夫人事調動過來的，丈夫在市教育局，她問我為什麼不學音樂，手指那麼長，自身條件還不錯。

當時想了一下，她說得也蠻對的，音樂這次還招3個那麼多呢，令我想起高中時音樂老師說她不收我錢幫我輔導呢，但條件是我一定要考大學。但爸說音樂要花很多錢而且沒實用，特別是上了大學之後，就這樣就算了。其實是自己不夠堅持信念，怕累。還和我說到，要挑男朋友的話就挑市級單位的，因為市區的單位比其它區的工資高很多，笑暈我,也太現實了吧。

她這樣一說還讓我想起去年暑假在英東體育館和市政廣場跳交誼舞時，他們問我是哪個單位的，是不是做老師的嗎，原來都是這樣，單位對單位，那裡的確很繁華，像宮廷一樣漂亮。

她好象還會看相似的,她說看我樣子長得蠻有福氣的,我真的要笑了,是不是因為我臉蛋大啊.

下午4點多，成績出了，隨便一看，自己名字上面給打了勾，辦事人說是入圍名單。看了是我前一天想的分數，如果沒犯那一道語法題，我應該是第一名了，因為我和第一名的分數就差一點。想不到，今天體檢時，其它科的來問我考什麼的嗎，一說是英語，他們個個都好象見了國寶一樣，說厲害，還第一次被人這樣子稱贊呢，就是因為招那麼兩個。

不知道是因為什麼原因，我的老師居然讓我寫起了長篇的英語日記了。這個消息，真是讓我感到丈二和尚——摸不著頭腦。

日記正文可以是敘事、描述、說明、議論等各種形式。其實，由於日記是非常隨便的，因此上述文體常常結合在一起使用。日記內容取自生活，可長可短，有時無事可記，一兩句也可以。切忌今天記，明天不記，三天打魚，兩天曬網，破壞了記日記的情趣。另外，日記也應該盡可能講究一些文采，切忌寫成流水賬。

3)英語日記中的縮寫與省略

英語日記中的第一行的月份與星期通常都是縮寫的：

Sunday----Sun Monday----Mon.

Tuesday----Tues. Wednesday----Wed.

Thursday----Thur. 或 Thurs. Friday----Fri.

Saturday----Sat. January----Jan.

February----Feb. March----Mar.

April----Apr. May----May. June----Jun.

July----Jul. August----Aug.

September----Sept. October----Oct.

November----Nov. December----Dec.

另外，英語日記中由於頻繁出現I，因此，常常省略，如：In the evening went with Xiao Li to the cinema. Finishing exercises, went to play tennis. 但如果省去I，會造成語義不清時，則不可省去：

My sister is good at English, but I am just so-so.

實際上，省與不省I，只是作者的一種習慣，為了記日記的方便。

最後需要一提的是，英語日記習慣一年一本，因此日期不必寫年份，而只是在每年一本的日記本封面上或者在日記的第一頁和最後一頁加以註明即可。

The night before the examination

The clock struck eleven at night. The whole house was quiet. Everyone was in bed except me. Under the strong light, I looked gloomily before me at a huge pile of that disgusting stuff they call「books」.

I was going to have my examination the next day. 「Whencan I go to bed?」 I asked myself. I did not answer. In fact I dared not.

The clock struck 12.「Oh, dear!」I cried. 「Ten more books to read before I can go to bed!」We students are the most wretched creatures in the world.

A watermelon

Got a present of a watermelon cooled down in the well(在井裡冷卻過的)from my next-door neighbour. As I was very thirsty, enjoyed it very much. They say the watermelons have turned out very well this summer e to the dry weather.

「鄰居送西瓜」這樣一件小事，充滿生活樂趣。當然可以作為日記的材料。文中有省略I的地方。

Very fine

A sunny day

I got up early today to watch the sunrise. While I waited for the sun to rise, I sat beside my window and thought of my future. Soon I will be a grown man and I won't be a baby anymore. Maybe I'll be going to college if I pass the college entrance examination. I didn't want to think of not passing this important examination, for my parents are counting on me to do so.

Anyway, if I don't pass this one I should try again next year. I thought about my parents too. They have worked so hard to give us children a good life. Now, they are getting older little by little. There are more grey hairs now in Mother's hair. As for my father, he's beginning to have a hard time reading the newspaper. He uses a pair of glasses now. All these thoughts touch me and tell me that time is indeed swiftly passing.

The sun was coming out of the horizon. First it was just a ray of light. But little by little the whole circle started coming into view. The sky was a bright orange with a blue haze surrounding the emptiness. Soon I could feel the warmth of the sun as its rays passed through my window pane. The view was really beautiful, more beautiful than any picture I had ever seen. In a few minutes everyone was awake and everyone went on their own way with their lives. Another day started and it was another beginning for all of us.
