painter hangs his or her finished picture on a wall, and everyone can see it. A composer writes a work, but no one can hear it until it is performed. Professional singers and players have great responsibilities, for the composer is utterly dependent on them. A student of music needs as long and as arous a training to become a performer as a medical student needs to become a doctor. Most training is concerned with technique, for musicians have to have the muscular proficiency of an athlete or a ballet dancer. Singers practice breathing every day, as their vocal chords would be inadequate without controlled muscular support. String players practice moving the fingers of the left hand up and down, while drawing the bow to and fro with the right arm -- two entirely different movements.
Singers and instrumentalists have to be able to get every note perfectly in tune. Pianists are spared this particular anxiety, for the notes are already there, waiting for them, and it is the piano tuner's responsibility to tune the instrument for them. But they have their own difficulties: the hammers that hit the strings have to be coaxed not to sound like percussion, and each overlapping tone has to sound clear.
This problem of getting clear texture is one that confronts student conctors: they have to learn to know every note of the music and how it should sound, and they have to aim at controlling these sounds with fanatical but selfless authority.
Technique is of no use unless it is combined with musical knowledge and understanding. Great artists are those who are so thoroughly at home in the language of music that they can enjoy performing works written in any century.

我不知道他何以會就這樣丟棄了「誠信」，而且是在「思索」之後。我不禁想問：他真的曾經思索過嗎？余秋雨說：「只有當生命被逼迫到了最後的邊界，一切才變得深刻。」然而我真的不希望看到，在生與死的邊緣，曾經出現了這樣一種舍棄「誠信」的「深刻」。這種取捨，無論如何我都無法認同。
也許正是由於他曾經有過漫長的人生跋涉，他才會有了如是抉擇？也許他是害怕了吧。說到誠信與風度，不能不談魏晉。那是一個真正的亂世。「龍質鳳章」的嵇康何嘗不是至誠至信之人？然而現在在哪兒呢？只留下臨刑撫琴的慷慨與豪情，還有「《廣陵散》從此絕矣」的凄怨哀嘆。還有岳武穆，不是一樣連同他的「精忠報國」、《武穆遺書》葬於黃土？他不能不害怕，因為有著太多的前車之鑒。所以他在對歷史教訓的「思索」後，選擇了拋棄「誠信」。千年後的人們畢竟對於英雄的悲劇有了淡化的念頭，然而卻因這教訓而拋棄「誠信」，那麼千年前呢？這樣「誠信要不得」的觀念該是何等地深入人心呀！所以我這一嘆，不僅在現在，也嘆到千年前，那個人心尚古的年代。
我也知道歷史，知道歷史的教訓。然而我會為保留「誠信」而不惜拋棄其他的六個背囊，甚至「健康」。我不要健康的肉體，而要健康的靈魂。沒有誠信，靈魂便是一種殘缺和卑瑣的存在。這樣的存在，我寧願它湮滅於唐朝的煙塵宋朝的風中，重新洗盡鉛華。
沒有誠信便沒有歷史。中國文化便是無數前代史家們的誠信碑載。所以，回顧歷史的所謂教訓前，你應該先看到血與淚書寫的「誠」與「信」，你不應該在用誠信的筆書寫的歷史的回顧中拋棄了誠信，你應該對自己說：誠信，自我而始。
保有這樣誠信的念頭，或許是由於我「跋涉」的人生尚短。或許走的多了，看的多了，自然會產生一種超拔念頭。就像我們在高處看螞蟻搬家，總會發現它們在擇路上的諸多可議論處。不僅是誠信，當你面臨任何一次生死抉擇時都該有更深刻的思索。不要潦草地選擇，否則那也是在潦草你的人生。

015屆考研英語完型真題分析及應對策略

2015屆全國碩士研究生入學統一考試英語考試於2014年12月27日順利進行。試題中的各題型均無超綱內容和難度猛增現象。其中，英語知識運用，也就是完型填空部分，與2014年全國碩士研究生入學統一考試英語考試相比，考點無明顯變化，但難度略有下降。
完型填空不僅考查考生對不同語境中規范的語言要素（包括詞彙、表達方式和結構）的掌握程度，而且還考查考生對語段特徵（如連貫性和一致性等）的辨識能力等。共20小題，每小題0.5分，共10分。
完型填空中大多數短文是條理性清楚的說明文，或者邏輯性強烈的議論文。在一篇文章中，通常只涉及一個主題，文章結構較清晰，作者的觀點態度也比較明確。因此，完型所有題必須聯系短文的主題，把握文章的基調進行解題。而且，每道題都可以在相對獨立完整的語言結構，語境結構中找到線索。考查內容涉及近義詞的辨析和邏輯關系，其中較偏重對邏輯關系的考查。
完型填空考查考生的詞彙知識（包括詞性的用法、詞義的辨析、詞語的搭配、語法結構、語篇的銜接）；
語法知識；閱讀理解能力；以及運用以上知識進行分析、推斷，並駕馭語篇的能力。考生在備考時要復習並熟練掌握語法知識，大量廣泛的閱讀以擴大詞彙量和知識面，進行大量的習題訓練已達到熟能生巧。
從真題的考查內容和考查形式不難看出，這部分考題對詞彙語義進行考查外，重點考查考生閱讀、理解、分析、推斷並駕馭語篇的能力。針對這一特點給16屆備考的考生提供相應應對策略，提高解題速度和正確率。
1.對應成分分析
對應成分指的是在上下文或句子內部間有相同或相似規律結構的句子。各成分間形成一定對應關系，可根據這種邏輯關系找出與未知填空相對應的已知成分。這種考法幾乎在每次考試中都會出現，需要考生們仔細研讀文章分析後可看出，當然如果找出上下文之間的對應關系，題目也就迎刃而解了。
2. 關聯結構
關聯結構跟上文中的對應成分有點類似，也常常有and來提示我們。關聯結構的前後語法地位相等，具有最大的相似性以及關聯性。
3. 注意時間、數字等提示性線索
文章中一些數字、時間等我們尤為要注意，這往往是提示正確答案的線索，所以考生一定要抓住這樣線索。
4. 注意文中的邏輯關系
在歷年的考試中，邏輯關系每年必考。邏輯關系可以分為並列關系、遞進關系、舉例關系、列舉關系、因果關系以及對立關系（包括轉折和讓步）六種邏輯關系。所以，復習中一定要注意分析上下文邏輯關系。
5.復現
復現往往是指作者在文章不同的地方使用相同或不同的單詞表達相同或相類似的意思。這種現象在考研完型中出現也非常多，因為一般文章是圍繞一個中心主線展開的，文章首句一般就告訴我們這篇文章的主題。完型填空中的短文往往通篇文章層層復現，非常縝密。所以，考生在解題時，把握住這一特點可以更加明確的找到解題線索。
完型填空考查的是考生對英語知識的綜合運用能力。因此，復習中力爭做到全面，在加強詞彙知識，語法知識和閱讀能力的基礎上，提高綜合運用英語的能力。通過不斷的練習，各方面的能力一定會有提高，堅持到最後一定會在考試中取得理想的成績！

The Bridge
Once upon a time two brothers who lived on neighboring farms fell into conflict.
One morning there was a knock on John』s door. He opened it to find a man with a carpenter』s toolbox.
「I』m looking for a few days』 work,」 he said. 「Perhaps you would have a few small jobs here and there I could help with?」
「Yes,」 said the elder brother. 「I do have a job for you. Look across the creek at that farm. That』s my neighbor; in fact, it』s my younger brother』s. Last week there was a meadow between us, but he took his bulldozer to the river levee, and now there is a creek between us. See that pile of lumber by the barn? I want you to build me a fence—an 8-foot fence—so I won』t need to see his face any more.」
The carpenter said, 「I think I understand the situation. I』ll be able to do a job that pleases you.」
The elder brother had to go to town on business, so he helped the carpenter get the materials ready, and then he was off. About sunset when John returned, the carpenter had just finished his job. John』s eyes opened wide. There was no fence there at all.
It was a bridge—a bridge stretching from one side of the creek to the other! A fine piece of work, handrails and all and the neighbor, his younger brother, was coming across, his hand outstretched.
「You are quite a fellow to build this bridge after all I』ve said and done.」 The two brothers stood at each end of the bridge, and then they met in the middle, taking each other』s hand, then embracing each other.
They turned to see the carpenter raise his toolbox on his shoulder. 「No, wait! Stay a few days. I』ve a lot of other projects for you,」 said John. 「I』d love to stay on.」 The carpenter said, 「but I have many more bridges to build.」

The story goes that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face.
The one who got slapped felt hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand: "Today my best friend slapped me in the face."
They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him.
After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: "Today my best friend saved my life."
The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now you write on a stone. Why?"
The other friend replied: "When someone hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it."
A Beautiful Scenery
In campus, the boys and the girls are beautiful scenery. They like to imagine, and to daydream. They seem to know everything but they know nothing thoroughly. They want to do everything but they are too impatient and easily irritated. They hope to fly in the sky but fear the dark clouds; and they hope to swim in the ocean, but are afraid of the furious waves.
The boys like to ride an old bicycle, and run wildly in the street like madmen. They wish they could escape from the school and travel all around the world.
The girls like to wear red skirts and tight clothes. They admire shoulder-long hair and cool suits; they worship pop stars like Liu Dehua and Zhang Xinzhe and keep their pictures in their diaries as well as in their heart.
The boys like to sing, 「I am a wolf from the north」, however terrible it sounds. Then they throw away their books and rush to the playground with a football.
The girls like to play with their hair. They plaid, and then take it apart. How can they put their complicated feelings in good order?
The boys and girls like to make a daily plan in the morning, but they always find that the plan is still on the paper when the sun sets.
The boys and girls have tried for hundreds of thousands of times to change those theories and formula which have been obeyed for millions of years on this planet. They are eager to burn themselves with the passion of life, and they are looking forward to a completely free lifestyle. But, they can't. What they can do is to walk out of the campus and buy some gum. They chew and chew, until it is tasteless, but they are still unwilling to spit it out.
