They stretch out their legs like flying squirrels. This increases their air-resistance and reces the shock of impact when they hit the ground.

ring可以用於表示經歷一段時間,從語法上講,A和B都可以.但我覺得從語氣上應該用throughout,強調一生都是這樣.
