英雄應當不以成敗論之，秦末，劉邦、項羽爭霸天下，結果以項羽失敗而告終，《史記》作者司馬遷評價其乃「失敗的英雄」，我很贊同。
項羽，楚國人，青年時，學書、學劍皆不成，換學兵法，卻也「略懂其義」，不願深入了解，當其遇秦王游會稽時，發出「彼可取而代之」的怒吼，項梁驚而捂其口，可見項羽的遠大理想。劉邦那時算什麼人呢？只是一個泗水亭長，見到秦王也只能發出「嗟乎，大丈夫當如此」的羨慕之意，恐怕他至死也沒想到可「取而代之」吧，可見項羽的遠大理想，是常人難以想像的，這足以體現了項羽的過人之處。
中華民族的歷史源遠流長，翻開司馬遷著述的《史記》，它顫動著我的心靈。
其中《項羽本紀》更令我對項羽有了很深的感觸。
武功蓋世，風雲際會，一舉成名，威服天下，主宰蒼生，英雄莫敢俯視。但大起過後即大落，大喜過後即大悲。從笑傲天下，碑睨諸侯，短短四年，被迫自刎烏江，項羽不愧為悲情英雄。
項羽，字子羽，出生在一個世代將門的貴族家庭，他不願讀書，不學習擊劍，更不願學識字，只學能指揮千軍萬馬的兵法，這為他能成為統帥，完成他滅秦的夙願成了堅固的基礎。年僅二十四歲，擁有如此的雄心壯志，如此遠大的抱負，難道不值得我們學習嗎？沒有理想沒有抱負的人往往不能成功。這不得不引起我們的共鳴。
他的叱吒風雲又重情重義，既神勇無比又親善士兵。
秦二世二年，一個眼色，立刻拔劍殺死了殷通。混戰中，以一殺百。他的果斷，他的勇猛不得不使我震驚。「梁乃召故所知豪吏，諭以為所為起大事」他出色的表現在司馬遷眼中也得到了充分的肯定。這位光明磊落的千古義士令我顫動。
「騅不逝兮可奈何，虞兮虞兮奈若何」霸王別姬的故事，無不體現到項羽柔情的一面。自古英雄愛江山，自古英雄愛美人。項羽愛江山還是愛美人？我認為他既愛江山也愛美人。
愛江山，他才南征北伐，陶醉於西楚霸王的寶座；愛美人，他才隨身不離虞姬。許多人覺得項羽不應該因為美色而在四面楚歌時，不開個例會，但試問，面臨生死一別的邊緣，誰不珍惜與愛人共度的時光？何況項羽身後這個如此乖巧的女子，難怪得到他歡心。這出於項羽的柔情，他的重情義。這位柔情似水的猛將令我佩服。
兩軍對戰，拚死一搏，「所當者破，所擊著服，未嘗敗北」這十二個字是在項羽本紀里，項羽對自己的評價。項羽的一往直前，視死如歸的精神，如果能在如今社會中發揚，那麼會多好？地震當中如果官員也秉著這種精神，那麼我想也不至於有那麼多的傷亡人員。這為破釜沉舟勇往直前的滅秦功臣讓我感動。
項羽對士兵的友善，對部下的關心，同甘共苦的精神，歷代是多少帝王所能做到的？又是多少現代人能顧及的？無良商販為了私慾，剝削員工的實例比比皆是，為什麼就不能學習一下他的精神呢？
項羽的果斷，細膩，勇猛，感悟了我。讓我明白到時機是多麼重要，情誼是多麼的可貴，精神是多麼可嘉。
但不可否認的是他的鼠目寸光，殘暴不仁，妄自菲薄。
雖然項羽神勇無比，但卻在處理私情方面十分不謹，對於項伯私訪張良，泄漏軍機，項羽卻沒有誅殺，導致往後與劉邦在求封漢中成了憂患之處。啊！為了所謂的信任而重用無能的親信，特別是在事業成敗個人生死的重大問題上重用無能的親信，是如此愚蠢的行為啊！
項羽在每次戰爭之後，必定屠城。活生生地把人埋了，人家都已經投降了，還要這樣塗炭生靈，難道這值得肯定嗎？這種濫殺無辜的行為難道知道贊揚嗎？
劉邦，一個市井之徒，能把一代將相項羽打敗，這似乎是出乎預料。但我覺得是在情理之中！項羽自伺高貴，能力超群，看不起劉邦，就是因為他的嫉恨上頭，才被劉邦看準了弱點，擊得他落花流水，才使賢才都歸心於漢。這使我悟出一個道理，要成為英雄一定要忍耐。做人也一樣，因為一時得暴躁而做出令自己後悔的事，是如此的可恨！是如此的後悔！三思而後行啊！
項羽的濫用私情，殘暴，沖動，無一不警戒我，應該冷靜、客觀地面對每一件事，從多角度地去看每個問題，才能理性地作出選擇。
在一個盛行「勝者王侯敗者」的觀念，竟然還有一個失敗了的項羽受到如此的禮贊。他讓我嘆息，讓我感概，讓我傷感，讓我敬佩。他的血性和柔情，讓我揮之不去，詠之不足。他雖然像流星，在歷史長河中一閃而過，但他卻成了一個文化符號，被人們無數次地評價著。
項羽作戰英勇無比，巨鹿之戰，殺死畏縮不前的宋義，破釜沉舟，同仇敵愾，將士們以一當十，經歷九次戰斗，徹底擊垮秦軍主力，這一仗，確定了項羽的統帥地位。劉邦呢？卻趁此時機，攻入咸陽，小人得志，還狂妄地想在關中稱王，項羽聽說後，立刻大怒，特別是聽說曹無傷的話後，揚言「旦日饗士卒，為擊破沛公軍。」多麼豪邁，多麼勇猛，有男子漢氣概，鴻門宴後，項羽進入咸陽，大封諸侯，自稱西楚霸王。
誠然，英雄不可能是完美無缺的，項羽失敗的原因，歸根結底還是歷史的教訓——失去民心，項羽有著軍事天賦，但他曾將秦軍投降士卒坑殺二十萬，典型的一個殺人狂魔，人人懼之。當其進入咸陽城後，燒殺搶掠，秦民大失所望，可以看出，項羽政治水平不高，不懂得安撫人心。
可劉邦呢？被項羽打敗後，嫌車跑得慢，居然將親生骨肉踢下車去，這種行為簡直連牲畜都不如，我想這時，他更不會有項羽那種烏江自刎的氣魄吧？這是典型的小人形象，遇事毫無主張。他還慣用卑鄙手法，當劉邦項羽簽訂「鴻溝之約」後，原本是停戰期間，卻發兵攻打項羽後背，可見他是一個地道的偽君子，他還曾對項羽說「財物無所取」可是他獻給項王和范增的玉璧「和玉斗」是他從咸陽宮里搶來的奇世珍寶，。項羽做事從來都是說一不二的，更不會干出劉邦這種口是心非的事來，從這里可以看出項羽才是一個頂天立地的大丈夫。
劉邦雖然有缺點，他就只憑借了一點戰勝了項羽，那就是「得民心者得天下」。
無論如何，項羽的功績是掩蓋不住的，他是我心中的英雄！
