過了岳陽，我們正要游覽洞庭湖，被大風所滯留。我的小弟小修作了《詛柳秀才文》一文，文中多玩笑話。傍晚，風很大，擊打的波浪如雪一樣白，靠近岸邊的湖水都成了白沫，船幾乎翻了。小弟說：「這難道是柳秀才在報復我們嗎？」我笑著說：「兄弟之間開玩笑，是經常的事。」因此都大笑起來，第二天天亮，風才停住了。
