过了岳阳，我们正要游览洞庭湖，被大风所滞留。我的小弟小修作了《诅柳秀才文》一文，文中多玩笑话。傍晚，风很大，击打的波浪如雪一样白，靠近岸边的湖水都成了白沫，船几乎翻了。小弟说：“这难道是柳秀才在报复我们吗？”我笑着说：“兄弟之间开玩笑，是经常的事。”因此都大笑起来，第二天天亮，风才停住了。

When I was about 12 years old, I had an enemy. A girl liked to tell me about my shortcomings (缺点): I was very short; I wasn't a good student; I talked too much; I was too proud, and so on. I would become very angry and run to my father with tears (眼泪) in my eyes.
